What palace are saying

by westongeezer » 30 Apr 2009 16:52

I've been trolling and i thought this was a nice find on palaces fans forums

After Reading's win last night they are in a three way last day promotion battle with Birmingham and Sheff utd...and we are in the thick off it.
I do not want Brum or the Blades to go up but would like Reading to sneak in there for our former hero Sir Stevie Coppell.
They have to beat Brum at the Madjeski and as long as we draw or win against the blades then bingo Coppell[Reading] are up.
Makes for a cracking game sunday as Sheff Utd with Warnock as ex-manager/fan and about 8000 of there fans down and we could spoil there party.Sky tv have the match live so we need a good turn out and to make ourselves heard with the usual anti-Charlton songs and plenty of support for our lads and Sir Stevie Coppell.
So come on Palace let's do it for COPPELL.........eeeeeeaaaaagggglllleeeessss

I'm sure the Palace fans would prefer us, but I don't think them, or their team will have what it takes to stop Sheffield unfortunately.

Hardly a ringing endorsement but the sentiment is there.

I wonder what sort of reaction SSC would get from us if he came to the Mad Stad in charge of another club?

What worries me here tbh is Warnocks a Blades supporter, i hope his players have more of a role to beat them other than assit the Blades

well warnock's signed a new contact today

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/crystal_palace/8028945.stm

will that have any influence on sunday's game?

Probably not, but it might make a few players try a bit harder to impress

What makes the Championship so enjoyable is that anyone can and does beat anyone. Palace vs Sheff Utd is game on!! We just have to hope Warnock wants the win and Palace players fancy the fight.

Neil Warnock will not (deliberatly) field a losing team.

The CP players will not deliberatly lose

Thats' enough for the sensible man....our win is the key

Thing is, I really don't think we have what it will take to beat Birmingham at our place. If we were playing them at theirs, no problem. But at the Mad? Hmmm... Don't think so.
