Royal Lady ^ this is the thing. He made it clear he wanted away for the Jan transfer window and no-one came in with a good enough offer. I bet SHunt is very surprised no-one has yet made an offer for him.

IMAMATEOFJOVSKYRoyal Lady Who's to say Everton want him for their first team? They might be using him as cover - he could end up in their reserves.
Word is they want him as he offers good rates on tarmacing of the club car park ! - Cannot see Hunt replacing any of the current Everton midfield players - id be surprised if any Premier club come in for him - apart from those whose scouts didnt bother to watch him last season!

No he wasn't. He was hyped up that way in the same that Sidwell was in the past because of a high media profile.
He had a decent enough run for a couple of months, after being woeful for the first month after the cock up of playing him at left back. Even if he was the best player at that point, giving a player who obviously wanted to leave the club a massive pay rise to put him on Premiership wages was a shocking decision when he wasn't really any better than his team mates.

I think it was probably made known by the club that it would take the full £5m for us to let him go. It was a bit of a gamble that turning down any other bids would help us secure the promotion spot that would've been worth all that extra Premiership money.
Things are quite different now and I'm sure the footballing community know that it would only take a significantly lower bid than that for us to let him go now.
I still expect him to go for £2.5m+. I've said it before on here that managers see a player like Hunt (and the likes of Sonko before them) as good opportunities to buy when they've been through a bad spell as all managers think they'll be able to get the player back to performing at their best again.
Still can't believe we gave him another contract in January though!

So why does he think doing the same thing is going to be any different this time round?
