Maguire Never thought i'd say this, but there's a Wolves fan posting and it turns out he's not the biggest cunt on this thread.

Relegation is by no means a foregone conclusion next season and he'd be a good signing for Wolves.

Cheers Maguire (I think).

Going for Doyle is a statement that we are not going to do it on the cheap, like last time - let's say someone buys him for £6.5M, how much will Rodgers have available - your league looks as tough as ever, you might need a large slice of it spent to pip Albion, Newcastle etc

Spacey - why do you have to be so offensive?

Your immature and pathetic keyboard warriorship is an embarassment to the rest of us. For the record, I was under the hail of coins etc at the Play Off semi as well - just move on.

When Doyle leaves, he will leave with our best wishes regardless as to who he ends up at. I'm sure that he will get between 10 and 15 goals if he gets a full season for his new team, and for a team like Wolves, that could easily mean the difference between staying up and going back down again.

That having been said, I personally think Wolves will stay up - I think they have a great team spirit, have some exciting forwards and wingers and IF they can strengthen at the back they will be fine.

Doyle for that money represents better business for the buyer than getting Kitson for 5.5 million.

You say the league looks tough but to be honest, Newcastle are in total disarray and the standard of football is pretty dreadful really. Likewise in the Prem, outside the top 6 it's all much of a muchness - staying up is entirely doable.

I suspect Rodgers will bring in a few players although no truly big signings, which is fine.

Largely agreed.

It will be an exciting signing for Wolves if it comes to pass. I worry a little for them that spending £6.5m and (supposedly) £35k a week for a striker who failed to contribute goals last time he was in a struggling premiership side is a significant risk. If it works out, though, they'll have a player of serious potential who, on form, would improve near-on half the 1st 11s in the premiership.

I'd love to think he'd turn the offer down. But realistically, it would be a pretty strange decision.

Maguire Doyle for that money represents better business for the buyer than getting Kitson for 5.5 million.

You're not kidding.

Does Doyle know Marcus is at Wolves now?

Would that be an attraction?

Wolves have held talks with Reading striker Kevin Doyle with a view to signing the £6.5million-rated striker.

That surely is tapping up? Surely we wouldn't give them permission to talk to him without having had a bid from them?

:|

Think more about this statement, if they've offered the required £6.5 m then contractually we can't refuse permission - that's what a release clause means.

If you were Kevin Doyle. And had to choose between Wolves and Stoke (assuming he was definitely leaving), which would you pick?

Wolves - obviously.

From a footballing perspective, I think Wolves' style would suit him more than Stoke's - he might be good in the air, but there's a limit.

All good reasons, but he's also seen at first-hand the effect that Kitson's ego can have on a dressing-room, and that's a perfect reason to avoid Stoke.

Id choose Stoke they are prepared to splash the cash and him and beattie will be lethal

too many clutching on to how they were playing at start of the season , the new signings like Etherington really turned them around

I'm sure if Stoke wanted him they would pay what it took. No offence to Wolves, Stoke have shown they can be effective at that level.

He's too small for Pulis though!!

I think I'd choose Wolves as with Stoke, he has seen what can so easily happen to a team in their second season at that level.

According to Dellor on Radio Berks this morning, he's heard that Murty may be following Hahnemann to Wolves as well.

I'd be a little surprised that they can't find a better back up right back than Murty, or at least one that has a chance of being fit.

A Reading hat trick? Do they actually want to get relegated? :|

Murty will be going down, not up.
