His ego must be taking a severe beating.

First he gets all carried away and thinks he "deserves to play in the Premiership", then he has a £5m release clause added to his contract, no one comes in with a bid to activate it, rumours of Premiership interest prove unfruitful, January comes and go's, the summer arrives and not a jot still

You over rated, over hyped, self loving plonker!

Do salt the earth around your house, so thorns don't grow all around it meaning you can only be woken by a handsome prince. We might struggle with finding one in this country.

As soon as he leaves, we'll have more than enough money to buy a younger, more apt replacement for the left wing.

In a way though, Jay has a point - it's common knowledge that Hunt wants to leave Reading (and has wanted to leave for a while). Yet there has been no significant gossip / rumours about him securing a move to pastures new.

Our pre-season starts two weeks from now and I would hope that this is all sorted by the time we kick off at Loop Meadow so as to minimise / remove any destabilising effect this saga has on the squad. Unfortunately, I doubt JM is willing to sell Hunt on the cheap so we may end up stuck with a player that doesn't want to be here. Now where have we seen that before???

Yep, but that doesn't mean that interested clubs aren't holding their cards close for the time being.

It's a bloody long "for the time being" though - nothing in January and nothing so far this summer.

Will someone please take him off our hands!!!

You're such a fukwit. What does the wink mean? Possibly tongue in cheek perhaps?

We'll also have an extra parking space when his caravan goes.

Please let this be true. In todays Sun.

SUNDERLAND are poised to swoop for Reading winger Stephen Hunt.

The Republic of Ireland star wants to quit the Madejski Stadium after the Royals failed to win promotion back to the top flight.

And Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is also closing in on £6.5million Chile forward Humberto Suazo.

The stocky striker, 28, earned comparisons to Wayne Rooney when he finished the world's leading top-flight club scorer in 2006 with 38 goals for Chilean side Colo-Colo.

That sealed his move to his current side, Mexico's Monterrey.

I noticed this as well via the BBC website (as if I would buy a newspaper). Is this where we start bombarding Sunderland FC with e-mails begging them to buy the useless twunt?
