Terminal Boardom So if the club want to sell him, why dont they put him on the transfer list?

There's no such thing as a 'transfer list' this a myth that's come about from football manager. The club and the player have made it known to other clubs via agents that he/they want a sale. We've said pretty much for the last two years that if clubs meet our valuation he'll go, fact is that nobody has.

Which contradicts the widely-held view that some club somewhere is going to pay over the odds for an average-at-best player.

Yeah its pretty much redundant due to the advent of the transfer window and the way modern contracts are drawn up with release clauses and "LOLoyaLOLty bonuses".

Sadly its looking more and more likely that this is the case. Personally I'll be happy for anything over £1m - we're best of getting rid of him for many reasons, most of which have been listed already

To be fair the club have done pretty well out of maximising sales since relegation. No-one's really gone on the cheap.
We'll have to drop our price somewhat but I reckon we'll still get around £3m for him which would be perfectly acceptable.

add in a sell on clause and success clause and we may get more later, but unlikely.

I've always said we'd get at least £2.5m for Hunt.

That might be over the odds, but I'm sure that one of the middle of the road Premiership clubs will see him as good value for money at that kind of money.

It really doesn't matter at the moment who's making noises about him. I'll give it two weeks before I start to worry that he won't get his dream move to the Premiership, but if worst comes to worst then he might be here to the close of the transfer window.

I'll be pretty amazed if he plays another competitive game for the club.

The price will be dropping considerably what with his desperation to leave.
Teams will be waiting until he's really desperate to get a good deal on his wages.
I seem him having to take a cut even if he goes to the Premiership. :D

What must he be thinking right now? NO-ONE wants appears to want him - not even making a "derisory" offer as far as I can tell. Will this make him realise he's not as good as he thinks he is and decide to prove all these bigger teams wrong - having the best season of his career this coming season, or will he sulk and be petulant and not want to play for a "piddling" little team like us anymore?

He'll go on deadline day when someone panic buys him after losing their first 4 games.

The club still think he will go,

however they are waiting for the domino effect to happen.

Once Wiagn or Sunderland sell someone they might be interested in lodging a bid

BR has said Shunt's mentally left the club already and has pledged to "help him find the right team" which I read as "You want to go? Well, we'll be hawking you to Hull and Burnley for £300k on August 31st if you don't buck (ha!) your ideas up." That attitude can only be good for everyone except Hunty's agent.

But if he's still under contract here, SHunt doesn't have to go anywhere he doesn't want to does he? And he certainly wouldn't go for £300k, he'd rather sit at home collecting his money from us and not playing I'd have thought??

He won't care what the transfer fee is as long as he's going to a Premiership club, and one willing to pay him enough in wages.

I don't think he'll be worried yet as the transfer market hasn't really kicked into gear yet. He and his agent will be aware of clubs who might be lining up a bid, but I don't see why he'd be worried at this stage.

That would pretty much list every active player in the game.
