PEARCEY You are seriously having a laugh..."A Martin Allen type character"...just look where Cheltenham are. If he has the chance Allen will be taking the Robins into non-league football. No thanks.

PEARCEY What makes you think an out and out bawler like Allen who is completely failing in management is going to sort out the mess Reading are currently in. Its not that difficult to appreciate where I'm coming from is it?

Barry the bird boggler Pards had something different i.e. a chairman who'd back him in the transfer market.

bollox, Rodgered has spent more in 4 months than Pardew did in 2 years. Just look at his signings FFS! He's completely taking the p1ss.

strap A more apt comparison would be with Bullivant. A man with no pedigree or experience. Judas and FSB both had successful playing careers and so at least had an idea of what they wanted their tems to do and play like.
Bullivant was, (and still is), a nobody, a behind the scenes grafter who doubtless had a place in a larger team as a number 2 or 3, but certainly didn't have the spine, knowledge or abilities required of a Nr 1. BR falls into exactly this category.

Like a lot of people I'm not sure about Rodgers but that latest comment is unfair.
Pardew didn't have to sell over £10million worth of players before he could spend money.
Pardew bought the best players available at our level at the time in Butler etc but even spending £3million Rodgers hasn't been able to buy top players at this level although Mills cost supposedly £2million whereas Chopra cost £4 million .
Pardew spoke as much bullshit as Rodgers but with greater buying power at the time the bullshit didn't matter so much so if Rodgers were given big bucks in January and next summer we might eventually survive and even make a promotion challenge.
Under Pardew we bought success, under Rodgers will he ever have the money to buy success?
