Jury out thus far on the signings isn't it? I thought that McAnuff had another lively performance yesterday and a player like him should be a stand out performer in a run-of-the-mill Championship side like Reading. O'Dea has mostly looked the part but has been absent of late after a couple of ropey performances; presumably injured though? Mills has shown that you don't get much for a seven figure transfer fee these days whilst Rasiak has little to commend his all round game but he is starting to prove to be the proverbial goal poacher. Bertrand is a steady and adequate young left back, Howard seems to be much maligned by many but is clearly easily good enough for this level whilst Cummings.....well, no one could even remotely rate him on his performances thus far could they.

Why not...

Exactly. One home win, why not give it the big un?

Notice my comment re McAnuff was via a Watford fan. I think Mcanuff has been head and shoulders Rodgers best signing. Rasiak probably second, the rest DUMP, so far.

No I wasn't LOLing specifically at you, it was aimed at your mate, hence I didn't highlight a comment you made on the same page regarding you stating you thought Rasiak would get goals.

LOL @ Royalee

Bigging it up whilst we currently average 1 goal and 1 point per game in a Division we finished 4th in last year.

3-4 back to back wins, maybe.

One??

Mutual friend of said Watford mate, in fact I introduced them. AP hasn't got it entirely spot on tbf. Watford Tom's views were that under everyone but Rodgers he was woeful, gutless, p*ss poor, Jobi McHadenough, couldn't stand him. Under Rodgers though, Tom warmed to him somewhat as his performances were, on the whole, very good.

Ah right, so basically your mate was saying that Rodgers got the best out of McAnuff, so he'd probably be a good signing?

Pretty much, yes. He also said that Watford were looking to sell anyway as they needed to get rid of their high earners.

One home win and Royalee creams all over his keyboard to the extent that only the O and L keys work.

One home win ladies, one home win!

Its really a bit more than that though

For the last few games we have looked much more like a team capable of good football and some decent results to go with the performances

We are still missing that forward to finish things off, and Church certainly isnt that man, but this win was one thats been brewing for a while so hopefully this isnt just the one home win

This coming from the man who for months was dragging up his own thread predicting doom and gloom

As for it being the division we finished 4th in last year, thats pretty irrelevant when you consider we have a squad thats been ripped apart since the last manager went so long without winning and scoring at home

Give Rodgers his due, he seems to have made vast improvments recently and we now look infinatly more dangerous at home than we did from Feb to Sept

Agreed.

Also, does anyone know what has happened to Radoslav Vasilev? He has a squad number and appears in official lists of Reading players, but I can't find any mention of him on the OS since a friendly at the start of the year.

Yes things are looking better and that's great. I was as happy as i've been leaving the ground for over a year on Saturday and felt like a great weight had been lifted.

One win at home to Blackpol is not, however, remotely close to being the validation of Royalee blind support of Rodgers that he seems to think it is.

It's not the validation no but Royalee is right to have a little lol over the knee-jerk comments and reactions of some posters who seemed determined to beat BR with whatever stick was available at the time.

Has he proved anything , well he's proved that his team CAN put in performances and CAN generate decent results. What he does need to prove now is that they can go on a sustained run of form.

That's extremely unfair though !

One win during the 106 season was never enough to make Coppell manager of the season. At least give Rodgers credit for the fact that we're gone 3 unbeaten and put in a string of pretty decent performances. There has been significant improvement and all that is happening now is the utterly foolish knee jerk criticism of Rodgers is being shown up for what it was.

We aren't anything like where we need to be but it's a weak division and we now look like a team that will make steady progress up the league having found a settled side, style of play and a couple of players to add some quality to the team.

It is not at all a long shot to suggest that by Xmas we could be in the top half of the table....
