Alan Partridge I think you lot are looking too much into it. Whenever there is a managerial change they have always said 'it won't be a kneejerk reaction' they always take their time over it,we had to wait 3/4weeks for Coppell. It will be the same this time, he's said there's been lots of interest but right now and for the immediate future McDermott is looking after the team. Of course if he does well in the coming period, then why shouldn't he be looked at as a candidate?
It was the same when Dillon took over, he didn't get many results ad behind the scenes they were after a manager. The same will happen now.

Joe 90 Dodd me if this has been said before (can't be bothered to read all 23 pages) but word from Peterborough is that Ferguson was being a naughty boy with someone else's missus. We don't need that

(.)Boobies(.) I actually think McDermott could be a good move. He knows the club, the financial restraints in place, he's done a fantastic job with the reserves as well. The problem for us is there still requires some trimming of the squad, and the squad is already a weak one. It doesn't matter if we bring in Darren Ferguson or Alex Ferguson, we're facing a couple of glum years under these restrictions from the chairman. It's not going to be pretty.

Arnie_PieMmmMonsterMunch The way I see it is one of these 2 scenarios:
1) BR did have a blazing row with the club & left unexpectedly which could point to Brian getting the job FT as we weren't in the hunt for anyone
2) The writing was on the wall for BR, and the club sacked him with someone else in mind & they've moved quickly to ensure their target doesn't get snapped up elsewhere.
Which one is it?!!
The first one, no doubt about it.
JM would not have had the cojones to sack BR at this time. No way.
official site It's been widely reported there was a row over money, what's the situation there?
No, that is completely unfounded and in fact we never had a cross word together, ever. I've never had an argument with him, ever, and you can take that as gospel. We left on cordial terms and I will say it was with deep regret he had to go. He's a fine man and I have a great affinity with him, as he does with Reading Football Club. It's all about results, that's all there is to it. It was a board decision. I never make a unilateral decision.

Why not? He's still a decent manager.
