I think Icelandic players benifit from not coming through a youth system in the way others do.

Tend to have experienced 'real' life, working for a living.

I seem to remember Coppell saying something along those lines anyway....

BUMP

3 senior strikers who are all essentially the same kind of player, one who's just coming back from a serious injury, one who's only had full season under his belt and one who's a fat, Irish waster

WE WANT RASIAK BAK

This really has to be Shane Long's last season with us. How much time will this lad be given before they give up on him? Has he even improved since his arrival 5 years ago is it now? I don't think he has. His movement is poor, lazy even, his first touch is awful for a player at this level, and he seems to lack in awareness as well. All in all a very poor striker, possibly one for the second division though. (lets hope that isn't with us next season)

Churchy looks like he could develop into a very good striker, and his movement is very mature for a lad of his age, but he needs someone big and strong alongside him I feel. As Big Foot quite rightly says, the senior strikers we have are a much of a muchness, all too similar and all not good enough as well. If you take Gylfi Sigurdsson out of the equation, we could well be in trouble this season, as I don't see where the goals will come from to earn us a comfortable mid-table finish.

I haven't forgotten Noel Hunt, we all know he's a decent forward at this level, but the boy needs wrapping in cotton wool. We need him fit if we're going to have any chance of a Play-off push this season.

roadrunner This really has to be Shane Long's last season with us.

I've been hoping that for a good two to three years.

I think Long has got worse since he joined us. Church is beyond shite. I don't think Hunt is the answer to everything, especially now Stephen isn't here, which I imagine is the main reason why he moved down here, and we've let Mooney go, whos been scoring some cracking goals week in, week out. Just the sort of player we need.

Almost like they're trying to wind us up.

Both Hunt and Church need someone else up front with them. Jon Stead would have perfect for such a cheap amount of cash but no..the club has too much pride to sign any of the normal players that other clubs in this division buy. Shane Long well less said the better I think lets just hope he's injured all season!

Quite agree, we have forwards who desperately need another forward to play off to get the best out of them. But surely this is Heston's doing, he's the one who insists on the 1 up front philosophy (which in itself isn't bad if the one up front is more of a target man).

I don't think anyone can argue this. Please somebody ask McDonut why Mooney is still out on loan after Rasiak was sold.

Rumour has it, it's because he's a top earner at the club, so if things really are that tight, then we must be absolutely skint!!!

He has got himself a 3 year contract on somewhere between £10k and £15k per week plus a nice signing on fee. Hardly cheap.

well props to the club for bucking that trend then

I'd say this is our worst team in those ten years

Rasiak would have been on something similar no doubt about it and i shudder to think what Long will be on.
