Great question,one I'm sure we would all like to know.
Like several others in this list this was asked at the fans forum and the answer was no.
With the added interesting comment that he realised it would be a thankless job to try and follow on directly from SSC. Not clear whether he actually had a cunning plan to let someone else try and fail leaving him with the easier job of restoring things but it has certainly worked well for him !
