RUMOUR - Alfreð Finnbogason

by FiNeRaIn » 17 Apr 2010 18:58

Plays for Breiðablik and has 14 goals in 22 games, aged 21. Plays for Iceland under-21's and knows the SIG!

Sources close to me are saying Reading have been keeping an eye on him, possibly signing in the summer.

How much does he cost? Hopefully he doesn't over-blow our transfer budget! We still need cash to sign Griffin,Bertrand and AK-47! :D

Could he be our 'Kevin Doyle' summer signing? Assuming FR isn't on a wind-up of course.

Some quality finishes there, but the standard of defending and keeping is apalling. Half his goals he's completely unchallenged. Although he looks like he might be very good at running the offside line.

On that "best bits" I don't think he'd have a prayer in the Championship.

Well the comments on the keepers are true, they look woeful. That said, he does his job and sticks them in the net. Icelandic Under 21 and they obviously can't be that bad as the Sig isn't a star there.

1871 Royal Such an amazing name

Indeed, I don't think I've seen anyone with the name of Alfred. Such an old fashioned name that it's so cool.

To be honest I would just like to remind people of someone named Kevin Doyle ..... who I am sure we all went "yeah he is good in the Irish league but thats not the same standard as the championship" .........

Just saying is all ......

Remind me what's happened to Nwankwo, who I think was the last player I made this sort of judgement on...

1871 - Doyle was scouted by McDermott, Hammond & Coppell.

Finnbogason has been spotted by an HNA? nobody.

I'll have you know that my scouting network is a lot bigger than theirs. Reading are a big short sighted in this market, as are rangers as well.

Plenty of talent in scandinavia, portugal, croatia and the unfavorable teams in Holland. All realistic targets for clubs likes us, all cheaper than what we'd get if we bought from England.
