An excellent example of someone stricken with that most hideous of diseases: TSB.

oxf*rd. Delete this thread. I was wrong. I apologize.

At least respect my loyalty and bravery to speak up despite my being widely wrong of the mark.

You've nothing to apologise for. Brian McDermott has done a wonderful job, and it's highly unlikely Reading would have collected as many points under Rodgers. However, that doesn't mean Rodgers wasn't extremely unlucky to be sacked. I think he may still be the right man; the right man to lead MK Dons on a promotion challenge next season.

I'll hold my hands up and say I thought Rodgers was sacked to hastily and that he was turning it around, but I doubt he could have done so in quite such a spectacular and refreshing way as Brian has.

Despite all the people revelling in Rodgers demise, the truth is we'll never know for sure what might have happened if BR had stayed, but what we can all agree on is how fantastic it's been under the new boss and get behind him 100%

I don't think Rodgers could have stayed.

I actually think going to Ipswich as 2nd to Keane would be a good move for him. It's not a dig, but at the moment I think he'd be a better assistant. He's obviously exceptionaly hard working and thorough in his preperation. He's just too much to be a manager.

He needs to calm down and not think so highly of himself and his ideas. People who have spoken to him since his depature report that Brendan doesn't feel the same way.

andrew1957 ...I am sure the guy was trying his best.

I'm sure no one disagrees with that. Unfortunately, though, his best was pretty crap.

Wasn't there going to be a startling revelation about why Rodgers really left, now the season has ended? Or is that just my fug of in imagination? (Apart from the fact that Rodgers was sh*t.)

This must be your first post in about year, m8.

I think the main revelation was that no-one else had a scooby what he was talking about half the time - as witnessed by players' performances.

I miss Brendan. It was so much more exciting last season when we did not know whether we would be relegated or promoted.

Now we only have promotion to look forward to.

It'd be interesting to see how he got on there.

If he learns from his mistakes i think he will become a decent manager.

He wasn't far off with what he was trying to do with us, but can he work out what he got wrong and correct it next time ?

I hope so.

Whether Swansea is the place to do that I'm not sure, could be a tough season for them this time round and I wonder whether BR actually needs to drop a division or two and learn somewhere with less expectation.

This is terrible news. I won't be able to attend the Swansea home game so I can't give him the world class reception he so richly deserves.

I hope he goes to Swansea, next season will hopefully produce some increased atmosphere given ex managers at 2 other Championship clubs

You're seriously deluded if you honestly think that! Thankfully he's gone and taken his over-blown ego with him. Can we not forget him now and give McD our full support? If this season goes anything like the second half of last season, we can simply remember Bodgers' "reign" as a particularly bad nightmare that we had some while ago.

I dont think BR was anywhere near a decent team here. What BMc did was get the players playing again, many of those were the players who would have hoped to step up after SC left, however BR wanted to make his own team, and signed too many players in the summer, there was no way to fit them all in and keep everyone happy.

BMc saw what was there in potential, and used it to the teams full advantage, looking forward to this season, even hoping to attend more games, money allowing

I think Swansea will take 3 points off us this season at least if they appoint Todger
