Compo's Hat
parky They had an open top bus tour, this evening

Oh dear

I sadly found myself in the middle of this parade as people lined the streets. Oxford traffic was even worse than it normally is. And it took bloody ages to get served in the pubs!

Ah well, they wont be seen in their shirts next season when they're on the verge of relegation!

Take a look at the intelectual fans interviewed. You never see people like this in Morse.

When was the last time a team got promoted from the conference and relegated at the first attempt?

If anything, I'd suggest that with momentum they'll sadly be challenging for a play off place

The gap between League 2 and the Conference is very small. The higher up the pyramid you go, the bigger the jump.

Looking at the woman being interviewed with some kind of blue dye in her hair I couldn't help noticing the young man behind her.

I had always thought Joey Beauchamp had moved away from Oxford.

Now I know I was wrong.

LOL I did notice that as well cruel but fair. Clearly a case of Cowley inbreeding.

That is embarassing!! I yearn another trip to their tri-standed stadium to teach them a football lesson.

What's the probability of us getting them in the League Cup? Do we get a bye into the second round? Is it regionalised? is it equally likely we get the Shits?

No bye for us and yes, the first round is seeded & regionalised. So, without wishing to think too long and hard about it, we'll be drawn against a lower league side from the "South" - I've used inverted commas as we played Burton last year and they're hardly southern!!

The south goes further up because there are more northern sides in the football league.

No shit - it was to pre-empt some smart arse saying "but Burton are in the Midlands"

Having said that, this year the "North/South" divide will be more southerly due to the competition losing Grimsby and Darlington and gaining Stevenage and Oxford.

Last year's "southern" teams (inc the two promoted teams this year):

Stevenage
Oxford
Cheltenham
Barnet
Torquay
Hereford
Burton
Shrewsbury
Northampton
Dag & Red
Aldershot
Bournemouth
Southend
Wycombe
Gillingham
Exeter
Leyton Orient
Yeovil
Brighton

Can see Shrewsbury and Burton being moved from that group which gives us some cheeky little ties to look forward to - fingers crossed for a new ground to visit!

Any other Larndarn commuters LOLing at the "Oxford United - MOFF on Tour" stickers that have been plastered all over the advertisement screens on the Bakerloo Line escalators? Been there for a couple of months now - clearly they've used a cunning adhesive that's defeated the TFL cleaning teams.

I have seen those too, Jerry. What on earth is a 'MOFF' anyway? I reckon it stands for 'Muntering Oxford Football F*cktards'.
