Hmmm... 1.5million for Jimmy Kebe or 1.5million for Alex Pearce... I just don't know which I'd rather sell.

Noel Hunt and Ingimarsson our most valuable players? I don't think so. Some of those valuations are ridiculous

I'd rather keep what we've got. Sounds like Hanmonds waiting until there are experienced prem players available for loan. Fine by me.

Long
doubt we would get much of a fee but to get him off the wage bill should make room for at least a loan signing at cb.

Top Flight You shouldn't sell a player that you need.

If we sell McAnuff then we're gonna need another winger.

Never a truer word has been spoken. Suggesting we sell a player that will needed to be replaced, replacing a hole in our defence is ridiculous, and very contradicting. It's just putting a hole in our team covering another one. Not to mention, I can't imagine us getting a player as good as McAnuff to play left wing.

This is simple isn't it?

If Federici is... and I'm not gonna lie, I dunno how, but IF he's attracting interest from other club's, I'd let him go without hesitation. We don't need Federici like we need McAnuff, NO WAY NEAR.

Hamer could do as good a job as Federici imho, given the time and support.

You can have the best goalkeeper in the world, but if you're defence is shit, there is no point. (i.e, David James at Brizzle City, however I'm not suggesting he's the best keeper in the world, just an example

We can't sell any of our midfield, they are all needed and used, even to the extent of Jem... every midfielder we have is an asset. As for our forward line, Long could be sold... Church, Hunt and ...dare I say even Rasiak offer more than him, and what's he done at the club since 2005? ...Seriously?

However we've plenty of keepers, and Federici is far from the best we've had in the last decade, let him go. Imho it would be better in the long run to have a better centre back, than a shocking defence and an OK at best keeper.

Long or Fed to go...
but after re-reading this post, as much as I've spoken more on Fed's departure, Long would be less missed than Fed.

As much as I like the guy, I think we'd get some decent money for Karacan. I think hes great for us, but Id give the nod to howard and tabb in centre mid, with bryn as backup.

The money from Karacan could get us a half decent centre half.

And Federici.

Like most people i would say Feds would be a less of a loss than anyobdy else in the 1st XI that could a attract a £500k+ fee.
Long may also fall into that category and although i think he is better than Rasiak i feel that Rasiak is a a different striker than our others who are all pretty similar so keeping Rasiak is more sensible than keeping Long.

If we had that many Shane Longs to sell we could afford Craig Bellamy.

The Goat was fed On the grounds that Alex Pearce is still commanding a first team place - I would sell my sister to buy a replacement.

How many international appearnaces has Shane Long made? You lot make me laugh. You carry on as if we should be top of the PL. Just grow up FFS and stop behaving like a bunch of spoilt zit faced brats.

Seriously, if we were serious - we should be trying to loan a player of this calibre...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 928644.stm

I know Middlesbrough is not far away from Sunderland so he would have chosen them first or what not - but if the club was serious about challenging this year, this is the type of player they should be looking at... or Zurab will do...

if we were to sell any one for funds it would have to be feds because we have good keepers there to use!

Because he's played for Ireland a few times and he's scored oh so many goals for them, oooh.

I'm far from expecting Reading to be top of the Premier League, ALOL mate, lovely thought though ain't it?

It's just a fact, like it or lump it, Long is an average Championship player at most and I'd much rather see him sold and a centre back come in than Long continuing to keep our bench warm thank you. A player that scores rarely or a centre back that can stop us leaking goals, dare I ask what's more needed.

Surely that's the point - I'm not advocating selling Long -but if his sale allowed us to purchase a much needed CB, which in turn helped us move from being an average Championship side to a better than average one - I'd be happy.

I am of the opinion that unless our defence is strengthened, we are in danger of being a League 1 side next season, and if that happens, we will be kissing goodbye to our flair players as a result of even tighter budgets, and will eventually become an average League 1 side with a flash, near empty stadium.

I would rather sell Howard than anyone else. What is our choice up front? I would say that at best it is limited. Long is already carrying an injury which leaves us with Hunt - who is on his way back from a long injury, Church and Rasiak in addition to some very raw youngsters. What hapens if Long is sold then Hunt suffers another setback? I can imagine the multitude of Nobbrs screaming that we should get another forward in on loan. Where are we overloaded? Midfield. Lose one of our central ones if we have to.
