we should have an ex-players thread sticky on The Team section, IMHO, damned sight easier than looking at GF

Still two skillz finishes though and presumably his teammates weren't much above League 2 level either.

(unless you were just having a pop at Scotland in which case..carry on..)

re having a pop at the Scottish, LOLZ moment for me was the Scottish presenter bigging up the Icelanders and tipping them to go all the way and win the competition. Just 'cos they managed to beat Scotland  .

ps surely Sigi should be in the senior squad.

He is, but Iceland rarely qualify for any sort of Championships so they've brought a few senior players down to help the Under 21s.

Mattias Sammer, who is involved with the German FA and apparently was at the game yesterday, dont know why has just said that Gylfi is one of the most talented players at his age in Europe. Also said clubs like Bayern Munich must already be watching him very closely. Ok this was to Iceland radio, so maybe he was being kind.

Thank god we managed to nick him from under Ipswhich's nose!!!

It was a pleasure to watch him in a Reading shirt, just a shame it was all too brief.
