UpNorth I know it is only Wednesday but we have had a mountain of snow up here in Sheffield (around 18 inches this morning) and it is still falling. No buses, trains and a few cars venturing out. Will keep you posted.

gazzer, loyal royal just spoken to someone at the club, and while the pitch will be ok, the surrounding areas will be the problem
The club will be speaking to the football league before saturday
the same thing happened for the newcastle game- so don't hold you breathe that it'll be on. A postposed game is more likely, which is gutting as I have 2 tickets

FiNeRaIn Great news if this game is called off, it'll probably take place after Jan so hopefully by then we'll have the couple of million pound striker everyone is expecting. We might actually score some goals in this game.
From Despair To Where? I can vouch for the fact that there has been at least 12 inches of snow in the Sheffield area today and that there is no public transport in and out of the city. None of my Sheffield based staff have got to work today. I'm in Bradford and we've had about 8 inches of snow today and we're nowhere near as badly hit as South Yorkshire
.
There is more snow forecast for tonight and the temperature is not expected to get above -2 any time before Saturday and the roads are already as icy as oxf*rd. As someone else has said, the pitch may be fine but if the roads, pavements and approaches to the stadium are not safe, the game will not go ahead.

^this. Just walked outside and plenty of snow has fallen today, and with the Met Office issuing more weather warnings for Yorks & Humber, this game IMHO won't be on.
