sandman Yes it is a forum so why are you complaining about supposed "idiots following him around"?

because half the time they are just insulting him rather than even making points back.......

Of course, he never insults anyone without provocation does he...

True, but he's been given plenty of opportunities to stop and has laid into plenty of people who haven't been abusive to him.

brendywendy agreed- since hes arrived hes had one bad game where he was understandably leggy-

I said he showed promise and would be a VG player for us.

then one average game- where he looked pretty decent

He was better than that. He's just not a "sexy" player, does the simple things well.

then one very good game where he looked back to fitness, and given us some steel in the middle- good purchase imo

Agreed. Not many games but we look better

Just watched the 9 minutes of highlights on the OS, gonna watch teh whole match tomorrow. Leigterwood did certainly look to have had a pretty good game from that clip.

But as a word of caution, we may have only conceeded one goal since he's come in the side, but judging by those highlights it could quite easily have been 5 or 6 in that one game! Not saying they would have necessarily been his fault, mind.

And we could have scored six.

Plus Derby are the highest-scoring home team in the league

While I agree on your "could have" I've resigned myself to looking at results, actual goals etc.
Seriously, we did not need much extra luck to have won those five drawn games and if
we had (could have etc) we'd now be in the automatic promotion spot, a point behind
QPR. We might be saying, "And if we beat them at the Mad we might be champions!"

Actually think Derby had more, better chances than we did (from those highlights only). But that's certainly what was so frustrating about that poor run, we could easily have won any one of those 5 draws - ought to have been at least two wins IMO - (although in all fairness we should have been dead and buried under a big defeat by Norwich, but for the ref), if only we'd had some forwards in better form.

First Half:
Bloody hell, Derby can be extremely peeved they weren't at least one goal up by the time we got a penalty... could easily have been three, I know we had one cleared off the line, but it wasn't exactly a shot or anything.

Two teams on bad runs who like to play quick attacking football, bit short of quality in places but plenty of good stuff. Karacan is really looking good, McAnuff at the heart of everything good we do, great saves from Fed, particularly the one-on-one from the freekick. Fed had the entire goal to cover but stood up well and still had to dive a fair way at real speed to get his stop in, and it didn't rebound to a Derby player. Leigterwood, getting better and better - decent shot on him though I'm not convinced shooting was the best option. Not as good as I was expecting from the posts on here.

Second Half:
 How did Derby not win that match? Woodwork twice, 3 or 4 whistling just past the far post, 3 great saves from Fed, 2 stops to deny absolutely nailed on goals. Unbelievable. We weren't shit or anything, but Derby carved us apart.

Federici - 10 MOTM
Griffin - 6 point knocked off for awful defending for their goal, looked to be trying to block off Commons rather than attack the ball.
Harte - 7 roasted a few times but superb set piece delivery
Mills - 6 ok, but I'm beggining to think he's a nasty piece of work some pretty cynical stuff
Pearce - 6 bit ropey but didn't drop any huge clangers.
Karacan - 8 all over the park lovely touches
Leigterwood - 6 good in places but suprised at the rave reviews really performance dipped after HT.
McAnuff - 7 two balls for the goals, lots of other nice stuff but drifted out of the game a lot second half
Kebe - 6 some nice stuff, but not coming off for him at the moment - some poor decisions
Hunt - 6 worked hard and unlucky not to score, but nothing more
Long - 7 took his goals well, fair play to him. worked hard as always

Church - 6 should have forced a better save but I don't think it was that awful a miss, it was awkward to hit, certainly not a certain goal
HRK - 6 didn't do a lot
Howard - 6 didn't do a lot - think the criticism of him for that ball across the box is harsh, don't think he had any hope of getting to it first to be honest.

Savage was fricking atrocious.

But we had better strikers!

Quite funny because the Derby Forums were moaning that they didn't have strikers like Long!

Feds did make some good saves, of course, but had Long done
exactly what those strikers did and Bywater saved, he'd've
been pilloried for shooting at the keeper (for some of the saves)
