Big Foot Harte got the assist to the assist for our goal at Watford.

My apologies Big Foot.

I read that three times and still only saw "assist" once

Reading FC website No defender in the division has scored more goals than Ian Harte, who has notched four times for Reading. He also scored twice for Carlisle before moving to Berkshire on deadline day so can be very pleased with his return so far.

Harte is dump!
Why have we signed this old donkey etc etc

For the purpose of my bet mentioned in the OG post, it's 10 league goals for Reading.

However, it's interesting to see that all league goals included he's on 75% of Shane Long's goal tally.

I'm sorry but if we are serious about progressing in this league, then Harte has to go.

As a defender he's a £50K immobile 'fraud'.

At best the goals he scores merely cancel out those that his defensive gaffes present to the opposition. In reality he is probably costing us points like today.

Just what the hell was he playing at today? Everyone knows that in that sort of situation you play safe and clear your lines, you do not leave the ball for your keeper unless he calls for it. Harte's defence committee may point out that Feds did not shout 'away'. However, in that situation rule one still applies, you do not leave it for your keeper unless he calls for it. Whilst too far away to say for certain that he didn't call for the ball, I think it extremely unlikely that any keeper would call for the ball and then remain firmly rooted to his line!

Both Federici and Harte to blame for the goal IMO and it's not the first time Federici has mucked up communicating with his defense, see his muck up with O'Dea vs Watford last season...

Harte now 50% of the way there, come on Ian I know you can do it

Sorry mate, I like a lot of what Harte brings but that goal was his fault and his fault alone.

Right, so Harte plays the ball in a controlled manner with his foot and then expects his keeper (who I doubt very much has called anything other than 'away') to come and collect it?

Thick or what (on the part of Harte)?!!

There is absolutely no way at all that Feds should take any blame for Harte's stupidity.

The only criticism of Federici is that you'd hope he reacts quicker to Harte's idiocy, or takes the ball before it gets to him. But what Harte thought he was doing controlling it and then stopping to watch Fed is beyond me.

Taking out the mistake - to me Harte had his best game in a Reading shirt. He didn't get beaten for pace once, his positioning was spot on, his distribution with both feet were spot on, he put a few good balls in the box, even his corners were acceptable and a great penalty.

Ironic game football!

Agreed. It was a terrible mistake, but ironically i dont think anyone else would have been capable of killing the ball dead like that in your own 6 yard box.

No way he will be dropped, the alternatives just arn't up to it. Armstrong 2 years ago maybe, but been out too long and doesnt look the same player. Skinned alive v Brizzle. And Cummings is just a car crash waiting to happen.
