Lampard's definitely murdered a few pies in his time, does that count?

Just 14 appearances as captain behind Gerrard.

England are really shit these days if they've made a 2D limited talent their captain. Ferdinand out, Gerrard out, Terry disgraced... has he won the arm band on being oldest or heaviest?

Gareth Barry was England captain by the end of the game, after Cashley had hitched his sleeve up with the armband for half an hour. It means jackshit in friendlies - bit like being class captain at school.

Were they just taunting Terry by making Barry captain?

Man Utd 57
Arsenal 53
Man City 49

this could be a pivotal season...if both manchester clubs and two from london, arsenal and spurs filled the top four positions at the seasons end, would the oligarch rebuild to launch a new assault or would he walk away?

^ I think that depends on how Chelsea do in the Champions League - I get the impression that the CL is THE trophy that RA wants to win.

A second season out of the top 4 + no Champs League win might do it... I don't think a one off would.

He's just spent £70M on Torres and Luiz, do you think that might just maybe be a little bit of a hint?

It is for certain, and it'll be a sad day if Chelsea do ever win it - I certainly hope they don't. Even more so I hope Abramovich gets bored soon and sods off leaving Chelsea with debts they can't manage, and they return to the mid-table Premiership club that they were before their sugar daddy walked in and bought them some titles.

Jay, whilst I dislike Chelsea as much as the next man, they weren't exactly a mid-table Premiership club before RA came in were they? In fact from 96/97 until RA bought the club in 2003, they finished 6th, 4th, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 6th, 4th.

In a bizarre twist to my previous posts on this thread, I will actually be cheering on CheLOLsea tonight. 4/5 at Fulham is the price of the season. Fulham have Steve Sidwell in the side......

and the Full Members Cup, Division 2 Championship, Zenith Data Systems Cup...you call that nothing?

Earlier 90s Sugar Daddy, Matthew "Should have gone by train" Harding's investment paid for those top half finishes, an FA Cup and started funding the rebuilding of the Bridge..starting with the Matthew Harding stand funnily enough.
