Note to impatient Reading fans - a young player may look a bit shaky in the first few minutes of their first game and still turn out to be a good player. McCarthy really looked the part tonight. Mills and Kish great too. Kebe should have had 2, but still did enouhg to frighten Everton.

I'd say that, on the whole, that win was rather comfortable

Like last year, I might get involved in the cup run at the quarter final stage.

The big question, can I get from Palmer Park to Brum/ManC in 3 hours on the 13th?

Everton fans staying behind to give us a standing ovation off the pitch.

Fair play to them. Liverpool did similar last season, have to respect the way that city approaches football.

Stunning and thoroughly deserved. And what a save by McCarthy. Bring on the Villa! At least we won't have to face Carew lol

That was easy. Bizarre performance from Everton. Brilliant by us. Mills, Leg & McCarthy all outstanding.

MmmMonsterMunch McCarthy did superbly tonight.

Really looked composed, confident and did almost everything (bar one dodgy missed punch) right. Looks like a great prospect.

Fantastic!!

And great to see McCarthy visibly grow in confidence as the game wore on. Fantastic instinctive save to help us towards the end.

Long again working right through to the end and some great challenges up front during injury time to stop Everton pushing forwards.

Is it too much to dream of knocking Villa out at their place, in a sweet revenge for last year????

Fair play to Mills with that performance, stand out players for me has to be Mills, Mccarthy, Harte and as usual Legs.
