roadrunner At least it's different to the all too familiar repetitive plastic bowl.

Er, it's still a bowl.

Does that not mean the seats have to link all the way around the stadium? Because they don't.

Big Foot Can't see anything there that suggests anything like "real character"

Yep, astonishing comments, looks like more or less every other modern day ground.

...and main stand aside, it's worse than the Madejski.

Even if seats don't go around, the corners are still filled in, meaning that it's in an enclosed bowl...

It that sense, yes, but I meant the all too familiar seated bowl. My fault, I should have spelt it out.

Not sure why there's such a massive love-in for this ground tbh.

It's just a variation on the sane theme, much like any new ground. Yeah, the roof curves and they haven't filled in the corners - well shit the bed, never seen that before :|

Good for Brighton, mind you.

I'd be sacking the Architect tbh, looks like they've designed the worst of both worlds. Shallow single tier stands no better than the Withdump's on three sides and a three tier stand where the third tier will probably stay closed for 75% of the games, Great :|

Not a cat in hells chance of that stand being closed. Yes for Carling Cup games versus Burton Albion but when Brighton arrive in the Championship they will be easily average over 15,000, and will experience the big bump in attendances like we did when we moved from Elm Park, and then sustained ultimately when we arrived in the Championship.

I like it. Really looking forward to us playing there- it will be the easiest game of the season for me to get to.

That design is due to the need to be as inconspicuous as possible - they're in a hollow in an AONB (is it now a national park?) so the stands have to be shallow so as to not dominate the landscape - similarly they can't use the same sort of sticky-up roof supports that we and many others have.

There were so many constraints on building this, and so much massive hassle that nearly killed the club, that I think anyone who doesn't wish them well with it is being pretty small-minded. Brighton fans have got to be one of the best sets of supporters in the country (in terms of what they've been through to support their club and the supporters of other clubs.)

Yep - just checked - in the AONB but outside the NP.

So Brighton have built a stadium they can't expand later if the demand is there?

Muskrat, their capacity isn't much different to ours so I can't see why they'd close the top tier.
