Super Royals Anyone know when tickets go on sale? :D

How many royalty points will be needed? I reckon it will be the same as Stevenage 8)

I think we at last have an answer to the original thread on this post.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday 7th March between 9am and about mid dayish!! There will be no further tickets available after this point! Women and Children first! :|

So if there are no more tickets this is a monumental fcuk up. Thousands of empty seats with thousands of fans unable to get tickets for one of the biggest matches in our history.

Just can't get my head around how the club have come to the assumption that we would only sell around 2,800 tickets? Has the person that worked this out not only worked for the club for just the last 3 years but only knows Readings history for the last 3 years?

Surely anyone associated with Reading for a period longer than this would have known that for an FA Cup Qtr final against one of the top 4 clubs in the Country with a Wembley place up for grabs the town would come alive!

To say that another reason is because it is on a Sunday and live on tele then compounds my fear that they do not have the feelings or emotions of a football fan of any description.

I can hear the flow now.
We can save £56k if we only order 2,800
Hi Man C, we've had quite an interest, can we have some more please
They've already sold our other tickets, we're going to have a lot of unhappy fans. How can we pacify them?
I know free coaches at a cost of £40k

Because the free travel is a good idea, taking an allocation lower than Notts County sold is a stupid idea! Hence 20 pages of moaning!

Although I am now pissed off that I almost certainly won't be able to go, can I just mention I called this right first on the bandwagon thread 8)

less than 24 hours after our win at Everton, free coach travel had naturally not been discussed

so the idea of free coach travel randomly popped into somebodies head out of nowhere minutes after the allocation had been confirmed?

this club is a oxf*rd joke

Would be nice possibly for the club to show it on a screen considering the vast amount of people will not be able to go now.

Brendy the free travel is a great gesture by the club.

' thank you RFC for the free travel on behalf of your most loyal fans who will be able to get tickets for this match, unfortunately the rest of us are feeling a little Oxf#rd off at the moment '

Pretty much sums it up.

Group of six family/friends. One of us has >1600 points, two of us will achieve >1600 if we renew our STs, the other three just short.

Not going to split the group up so no early renewals and we'll have to hope there's some left come Tuesday morning.

Not feeling particularly well cared for by the club at the moment. If I can't get tickets for one of the biggest games in our history I'll have a right sulk on.

Having second thoughts about renewing at all tbh

Once again this shows a good arguement for the dropping off of Royalty points after a certain time.

Royalty Points started in 2004/05, so a full 6 seasons now, so anyone with 6 years of holding a ST should have 1600, assuming they have attended a few away or Cup games since then.

Some of us old timers that attended more pre points are fully fecked, just 122 points here, hardly enough to get into a reserve fixture.

Can I just say here and now how very sorry I am for every single fan who will now not get a ticket due to the utter incompetence of the club.

And I'd like to hear what Dirk thinks about all this now, seeing as earlier in the thread he seemed to think we'd go back and ask for more tickets.

Also, what would a cut-off date be for asking for more tickets? I know the OS says we decided we only wanted 2,800, but surely there is some sort of structure and other clubs have, in the past, seriously underestimated demand on an initial allocation and been able to go back to get more, BEFORE the home club have started selling in those areas? And WHY on earth did RFC not ask for an "initial allocation" and then, if tickets were selling slowly (yeah LOL) just go back and say we don't need anymore now thanks? Or aren't they allowed to do that?

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, all this has now shoved ST renewals to the back of a lot of people's minds - but the two biggest things that the club have to get right have been well and truly cocked up and it stinks. Craig Mortimer should be sacked. Pious little whatsit that he is. His comments on BBCRB were a disgrace - cos he was frightened of telling the truth and the backlash that will occur as a result of it.

I think all those questions have been answered tho. Other than the sacking of CM.

The club have explained why they were askng for 2800, it would have been the same at Villa, they have explained the time constraints. They can hardly explain why Man C did not play a bit fairer, then again Man C have ST holders in the larger part of the away allocation, and I guess they wanted to keep them happy, Imagine if you lost your ST and then saw the stand empty.

As well as giving more weight to altering the Points system, it is another kick in the teeth to away fans, from almost all clubs, crap area, poor view and as dear as they can charge, eg £31 at Ipswich. AT least at the Madstad they get half the area behind the goal.

Trouble is I can see the club vindicating the decision by saying that we would have struggled to sell more tickets when the truth of the matter is that we will never know how many we would have sold.

Wonder what Notts County's average away following is and how they came to the figure that they would request the full allocation?

1. My questions haven't been answered, further up in this thread Dirk (though I know he is not official STAR anymore) but he does always appear to be ITK, said we'd get more tickets.
2. As far as I can see, no one from STAR has made any comment about this.
3. If Man City "did not play fairer" then questions need to be asked - but City did play fair I believe, they were told unequivocally that we only wanted a TOTAL of 2,800, I'm just querying when the cut off date would have been, had we asked for an initial allocation and why RFC didn't go down that route, even if they then told Man City that we didn't need any more.
4. Tickets are not expensive - dearest is £25. And a further 1,800 tickets are £15.

So, what's your opinion then? You think this 2,800 allocation is fair and just? :|
