Was thinking. Harte has 10 goals this season.

He's usually a club's penalty-taker

Long has scored 5 pens and missed 2. Had Harte taken those he'd be on 17 goals!!

Moreover, would it have made him a better defender for the couple of months he was poor?

McDermott had it about right in the end. I think he was a little slow to take him out of the side, and I think we still lack a player with pace at the back, but you can't argue with his goal contribution. You can reflect on how his poor defending might've contibuted to some problems at times though.

Most fullbacks get skinned. Grffin did game before last

But these old war-horses make up for it in craftiness.

I suspect Harte is top-twenty on Actim these days.

And I see he made Team of the Week AGAIN on April 2nd, should manage it April 9th, too.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him make Team of the Season

He may well do, it doesn't change the way he's actually played though, it just means that those picking the team probably do so from the stats, the goals and reputation of the names involved. They watch highlights and read newspapers like any other fan in offices and cafes up and down the country, it doesn't mean that see how he plays week-in week-out.

Some - I can remember him missing at Elland Road against Man Utd (Barthez saved it) and against Arsenal (hit the bar). He also had one saved by Casillas in that infamous WC match against Spain.

Ryn Harte can't score goals while taking corners. If we continue to use him to deliver the ball instead of heading it in, he is going to get nowhere near 18 goals this year.

In fact, if his set piece delivery continues as it has done so far, he will be lucky to get to 10 goals.

And I'll happily buy you a beer Snowball if I'm proven wrong.

Just a reminder for you, Snowball.

I got that wrong.

Harte has ELEVEN goals this season

18 Goals last season, 11 this (and still six games to go. What a player!)

cmonurz When much of the debate around Harte has centred on whether he is a good enough defender, outside of the goals he scores, what is the use of referencing Actim stats, which have been shown to favour goalscorers?

How is Long doing, Actim-wise?

This for the guy who said nobody referred to Long NOT being in the Actim top 100

How can you count Carlisle? They aren't even in the same league.
