Ermmm, that webpage refers to the link I posted this morning. The full article is here http://www.thomaseggar.com/ebulletins/the-sport-lawyer--qprs-third-party-ownership-hearing-starts

Again, it's a real leap of logic to go from that objective artilce and draw a conclusion that
Sports lawyer Andrew Nixon, of Sports Group Thomas Eggar, believes Championship winners Queens Park Rangers will keep all of their points this season.
- he beleives nothing of the sort.

I love the comment above by Man Friday that the punishment should be 'futuristic'! Priceless!

Does that mean shooting with a ray gun, or maybe deportation to Mars?

Or does it actually mean that the punishment should be applied to next season, which is not quite the same thing as 'futuristic'?

They can keep "all their points" and be relegated.

talk is that they are going to come to a verdict on Thursday now rather than friday.

rumours are at the moment that the FA have based the whole case on the clubs official site saying we spent £3.5million on Faurlin when he actually only cost £600k. I'm not sure how true that is but would be a bit farcial if the FA have gone through all this due to the club bullshitting the fans 2 years ago. I imagine they have a bit more evidence than that against us to get this far

we'll find out soon enough I guess

Doesn't sound like it was even worth starting that rumour!

Poor QPR. Sounds like a promotion party where all there is is half a warm flat can of Hofmeister to drink.

I know. I love that one. If only I could say it was intended. Funniest thing I've ever unintentionally (or intentionally) said.

If it so happens that QPR`s dream of promotion to the Premiership is killed off by the FA. will we get to see any pictures of Warnocks face, or will they be doomed too gruesome !

Silver Fox Lucky Spacey didn't get there first or we'd all have learnt the name of the prison island off Mega City One that Colin was going to be sent to

They were always going to come to a verdict on Thursday - it's a 3-day hearing, starting yesterday. They just aren't announcing the verdict until Friday although it'll probably be on twitter by 7 pm tomorrow!)

The size of the payment shouldn't make any difference with a third-party ownership case - it's whether the contract was owned outright or part-owned by someone else that counts.

I'm sure someone can come up with some sort of merge of these two:

It would look just as real as the 'Osama' one anyway!

Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but according to the Daily Mail (yes, I know), both QPR and th FA have QCs representing them from the same law firm in London. I've no idea what this means for the case, but surely there's a conflict of interest here?

Did you never watch Kavanagh?

It's quite common, and no conflict of interest, for barristers from the same chambers to oppose one another in court.

Ahh. That'll be okay then. And no, never watched either of those things. Courtroom dramas never been my kind of thing since watching Crown Court. Given away my age a bit there :(

QPR 1.75

Norwich 2.16

May I say, before the decision is announced, that I have no idea if QPR are guilty of these offences, who does? However, if they are guilty, and if they are deducted points to put them in the playoffs, then a massive LOL to anyone who thinks there is some sort of legal claim by any club that it is "unfair" to have to play them as they are so much better than the rest of the league. It is not and never will be unfair/cheating to have a team considerably better than the rest of the league. If it were, we would have been docked 30 pts in 06. If the outcome of this hearing is that Reading have to play them in the PO's -well, so what? To get promoted we now need to win the semi, and the final. Those are not going to be easy games whichever teams we play. Good practice for promotion where you might be expected to play teams considerably better every week.

An awful lot of wishful thinking, and very little informed opinion on this thread. Most people don't seem to have realised that any punishments handed out have to be equitable, fair and the same as if it were Reading, Scunthorpe, or Bury in the dock. Fantasy talk of fines of millions are silly- a level that would see most clubs out of business. That is not to say that if their Chairman is personally found guilty, he could perhaps be heavilly fined. The level of points deductions is all about how many charges they are guilty of, and to what extent....intent is a huge issue. It is of course also possible that away from journos there have been talks- likely penalties in return for no appeal....

Personally, I would just love to see Colin explode- or have a stroke. Graceless charmless thug, there is such a delicious irony about this.

Got to feel a bit sorry for their fans if they do miss the prem- but it's not all that anyway. At least they can still get tickets without a mortgage for another year.

Rumpole featuring the "fair Portia" should have been a staple at your age then! ;)
