Sarah StarBarry the bird boggler Anyone know when the club will actually confirm what dreadful design they're going to foist on us next season?
In October, Puma pass the club a range of designs that they have on their account which are also used by other clubs. The club then weed out designs that are impractical eg those that aren’t suitable for hooped shirts, hoops that are at least 18mm high to fit the sponsor’s name on. They also want a contrast with last year’s design.
The playing department have an input at this stage as do the board in fine tuning the design e.g. do they want white shorts? Are they able to read the numbers on the back? (They couldn’t one year).
The chairman also likes to approve the final design.
This all has to be finalised – proof-approved – 16-20 weeks before the actual launch date which is always early July.

How the feck did the club choose the kit for this season just gone then? Was it the Christmas party the night before and they were all pissed. Saw a bloke wearing the shirt in town yesterday. Absolutely orrible. Looks cheap and nasty.
How can they spend the best part of year choosing a kit and come up with that bollox!

Terminal Boardom At least the 2010/11 effort was miles better than the sailor boy abortion of the previous season.

the annoying thing is that would have been a really good kit with the Puma "trademark" design added to it.
I'd love to get kit designers in a room, and use a cricket bat to bang it into their heads that the fancy additions that they think look so good are often the sole reason that people hate a kit.

Why damage a perfectly good cricket bat? Sadly, the clubs all know that there is good money to be made from fans wanting to buy the replica kit. If there were no changes then that would be a source of revenue that would be lost..

roadrunner I don't ask for too much, just please give us a home shirt with hoops that go all the way around and no back panel.
If I could be a little greedy I'd love a return to white shorts and white socks.
PS. This would be fecking amazing:
Nike > Puma
