McDermott was at the Kassam Stadium looking at a player, reported to be James Constable yesterday.Good striker but another one not proven in the higher divisions, worth a punt though?

Go to watch Oxford quite a bit and would be VERY surprised if it were Constable - he's not bad, but just no quick enough to make it at Championship level; he's very good at League 2 level and could just about do it at League 1 level.

Possible players to watch I'd say on the Oxford team are: Alfie Potter (fast winger but inconsistent and too easily pushed off the ball), Davis (LB - good going forward but shaky at the back), and Hall (striker on loan from West Ham who has looked too good for League 2).

We need to know a bit more about him. Can you paint us a portrait? Or at least tell us how he fits into the landscape?

I live in Oxford, so I now also support my local team - what's so bad about that? Takes quite a lot tbh as they're absolutely terrible most of the time. It's nice though once in a while to just pop down for a match, leaving at 20 to 3 rather than 2 hours before the game ...

I think anyone who has been bought up watching ding at the Mad Stad should make at least one trip in there life to the pox or swine.
As if was not for SJM that is where we would be now. Or even in existance!

Where exactly are they now? Their stadiums aren't too shabby and we could all be in the same division next year. We're hardly worlds apart. We just have a bigger emptier stadium than them, and a youth academy they will be envious of.

People quite often used to do this when local teams played at home on alternating Saturdays.

The whole football 'rivalry' thing is a bit sad really, hating a team or people that follow said team because they come from a different town than you, all a bit

Having said all that most Oxford fans are a bunch of chavvy braindead idiots. Of the sides around here I'd find it harder to watch them surrounded by said idiots than any other side. If Oxford was a must then Oxford City FC is the only answer. (and they play in blue and white hoops)
