Can't believe people are questioning the clapping at Swansea. In Italy when there's a minute's respect it usually starts off silent and then polite applause breaks out (no chanting thankfully) before going silent again by the end and its done very respectfully and is very touching.

Para Handy Being a cynic by nature, it's not often I blink in disbelief at the BBC Football page. However, I did just that today. Absolutely staggered by this.

did the exact same thing too, was looking for any clues to suggest it was a hoax page

Poor, Dave. Might have sounded funny in your head but in the context of the thread it sounds shit. Just my opinion of course.

No greater tribute can be paid to a player than having made me want to watch Leeds play.

But you're right, in the context of the thread I should have added my thoughts on the Swansea fans.

The Sun were about to out him as being gay, but his missus counteracted their interference by having an affair, so he went into deep depression and trumped the lot of them.

You're even less funny than Dave, Tredder, but then that's always been the case.

Not really. I don't actually count my posts so I've no idea whether any of them are wasted. Probably most if I'd care to wonder what effect they have. But I dont. So...

Jerry St Clair The breaking of the silence at the Liberty was a wonderful thing. It was spontaneous, touching and, most importantly, genuinely heartfelt.

My thoughts entirely.

I'm struggling to get my head round this. I live in Chester and have a mutual friend who has spent some decent time with him in the last year. I'm not going to muck rake, but there were some demons.

I can only imagine that something was going to come out in the press which tipped him over the edge. And it certainly wouldn't have been that he was gay.

It just beggars belief that someone could ever think that this was the only way out. I know that he was a top guy, an honorable man and a good father. And for those reasons I'm struggling with this a lot.

Rest in peace Gary Speed.
