Royal Ladyswansea jackRoyal Lady You posted it on a mutual friend's page. That's how I saw it. And I believe in letting someone rest in peace 24 hours after he's died, rather than speculating why he felt he found it necessary to end his life.
But you're happy to have a dig at the Swansea (&Villa) fans because of the way they showed their appreciation.
That's right. From my own personal opinion, I didn't believe it was respectful of them. If you note, none of the players (including one of his best friends) clapped - they obeyed the minute's "silence" that was requested. And TV coverage clearly showed it was pockets of fans clapping - not the whole lot of them. I just felt that if you're asked to pay your respects in a certain way, the least you can do is honour that request. As I said, they could have clapped and chanted Gary Speed, Gary Speed, Gary Speed all match if they'd wanted to.

TheMaraudingDog Just to back RL up here is a photo of none of the players joining in with the clapping.

We now realise as of Sunday morning that Gary Speed was in fact the most saintly footballer who has ever lived, who, with his charitable activities in Wales, brought hope and succour to hundreds and millions of people all over the world.
We would like to express our sincere and deepest hypocrisy to all our readers on this tragic day and hope and pray that they will carry on buying our paper notwithstanding.

Ukemelonheadfloyd__streete LOL @ the nosey, voyeuristic British public - the same British public who make reality television such a 'hit' in this country - desperate to know the reasons why a high profile person has committed suicide.....just as soon as they have dotted their own R.I.P
You get the taboid press you deserve, people.
surely the majority of the british public no longer buy tabloids, but get their news from a variety of online and television sources
the tabliods are forced to scrap between themselves for the minority of braindead morons left who do buy them, which is what makes them desperate to outdo each other in terms of sensationalism
in which case- its not really the peoples fault
also many people i know buy the tabloids for their excellent football coverage- and this would have little to do with the sensational shit on the front page
seems wrong to blame them for that,,,,,,
Year on year figures - about 7,000,000 copies of tabloids per day

Tabloids work in internet form just as well - don't forget they're not funded by selling papers, they're funded by advertising so for them it's number of views and click-throughs rather than just number of people buying the paper.

7 million copies is about 10 % of the population, so im still right that blaming the population as a whole for getting the press "they" "deserve" is wrong
most of us deserve much much better

it means nothing. But can't you pay your respects on here, twitter or what ever you please (Just like the Swansea fans), and just keep all your theorys or newspaper bullshit to yourselves? None of you know him, none of you know his personal life apart from hearsay and quite frankly none of the papars know. Let him lie in peace if thats what he decided he wants and remember him for the role model he was in his playing day?
No i am not oxf*rd EDL
