Well yes, apologies, but as I said earlier in the thread I have no time for suicides.

I'm at the ground waiting to 'mourn' with everyone else. I won't be clapping.

No Hoops
Silver Fox
No Hoops Bit Ironic that we've been asked to clap a bloke who killed himself isnt it?

Only if he'd applauded himself to death, which I don't believe was the case

No I doubt he did. The irony is that you would not normally clap some one who has killed themselves.

Is it so difficult for you and TFF to even entertain the notion of suicidal depression as a mental illness which requires treatment, and can't be attributed to a moral failing any more than suffering from a bodily desease?

Even if you disagree with this idea (and we don't know enough about neuro-psychology to be sure yet), can't you have a look at your statements here and think, Maybe I'll hedge my bets on this one, rather than moralising about dead depressives?

cmonurz Utterly pathetic that this debate is still rumbling on. 20,000 Welsh fans had just found out that a long-time Wales player, and their national team manager, had hanged himself. Small pockets of fans spontaneously applauded during the minutes silence. What the fcuk could possibly be found 'wrong' with that? Jesus.

Good post too.

Touching tributes to Gary Speed last night particularly Churchy raising his armband to the sky which I totally believe was a sincere gesture.

There may be something I don't know about the connection between Gary Speed and Kenny Miller but unless there is Miller's own gesture strikes me as a bit disingenuous and attention seeking. I apologise to Miller if he did have a close connection with Speed.

Amazing coincidence that Reading's two Welsh Internationals both scored last night.

Even if Miller doesn't have a close personal affinity with Speed, he's playing for a Welsh club in the Welsh capital city and has scored the opening goal of the game minutes after a tribute to the Wales team manager. Why would dedicating that goal to a fellow professional be "disingenuous and attention-seeking" and not simply a mark of respect?

Disingenuous was probably an over strong word for me to use to be fair.

Would make his presence at Elland Road with a wreath a bit insensitive don't you think?
