Snowball "I shall award Churchy the assists and p!ss a few people off."
Seems like it's working...
If you do stats just to piss people off then go ahead. Generally that isn't the reason people compile statistics.

bigmike Having slowed the footage down several times I can conclude that yes the shot took a deflection however it was the slightest of touches and it was the Brighton defender who got the touch.. Simon Church never got the touch.

glenroyal That's settled that then
Different subject - I only saw the highlights - Kebe seemed to be back in top form, was that a fair reflection ?

Having slowed the footage down, I thought it was a noticeable deflection
which helped make the keeper dive under the ball, and personally
I think it was Church's touch.
Perhaps that's why the OS said Church tried to claim the goal.

Irvinchangeyaname Greer was in the local Brighton paper on Tuesday confirming it was him who the ball came off.
It's unusual for any defender to admit it's an own goal so no reason to disbelieve it - particularly an ex-Swinedon player!

Don't understand why he would do that because I was directly in line with McAnuff's original shot and it Quite Clearly hit Church on the top of the head and this caused the keeper to misjudge the flight of the ball. Plus as they came off at half-time Hunty waited for Church by the tunnel and patted him on top of of the head and pointed a finger into his chest as much as to say "that was your goal"...
So there.

The OS also thought Church had hit, and it clearly says "McAnuff pulled rank" to claim it.
