TBM He's too injury prone for my liking........yes he can finish but so can ALF, give him a chance first

Agreed on Alf

I love Noel Hunt, but I would really like to see a fit Roberts partnered by Alf for a dozen games

I can't believe they would get less than 24 goals in those 12 games

That is a pretty ambitious belief.

For a decent period Hunt and Long were getting a goal a game between them

Provided Roberts doesn't break down fitness-wise, this pair (or Roberts-Alf) could equal that

I am really losing it.

I meant, between them, they'd average a goal a game, 12 in 12, 18 in 18, 24 in 24

As Hunt-Long managed
here:

These are in date order, but there are games when one or both were out.

In one case Church came on for Hunt to partner Long and scored

In two games Manset partnered Long and scored both games

One game Long played up front on his own and got 2

Hunt (1) 1:1 Cardiff
Hunt (1) 3:3 Norwich
Long (1) 3:3 Norwich
Hunt (1) 1:1 Watford
Hunt (0) 0-0 Leeds
Long (1) 1:1 Sheffield
Hunt (0) 0-0 Coventry
Long (2) 2:1 Derby
Hunt (1) 4:1 Bristol
Long (2) 4:1 Bristol
Hunt (0) 1:1 Hull
Hunt (0) 0-1 Swansea
Long (2) 2:1 Burnley
Long (1) 3:0 Doncaster
Hunt (0) 0:1 QPR
Hunt (1) 1:1 Watford
Hunt (1) 2:1 Millwall
Long (1) 2:1 Millwall
Hunt (1) 3:3 Palace
Long (1) 3:3 Palace
Long (2) 5:2 Boro
Hunt (1) 3:1 Ipswich
Long (1) 3:1 Ipswich
Hunt (1) 3:1 Leicester
Hunt (0) 0-0 Leeds
Hunt (1) 2-3 Sheffield
Hunt (0) 0-0 Coventry

22 Games 24 Goals

Plus

Hunt off in 58th at Hull, Church comes on and scores
Long (2) 2:0 Portsmouth 451 (Hunt DNP)
Long (1) 2:0 Scunthorpe 442 w Manset (Hunt DNP)
Manset (1) Long assist Barnsley

Hunt on for Long inj at Cardiff

really? if roberts gets injured our promotion hopes are all but over. hunt wont ever be consistent, church is just plain awful, le fondre needs to be in from the off but for some reason takes a back seat to church, which is mind boggling.

The thing is we can take the hit of not getting promoted this season without it being a step backwards, as it would inevitably have been under the old regime. I'd rather move over the summer for exactly the right players than get into a bidding war in January for a player who, while having a sound record, is not head and shoulders above others at this level.

Gone to Saints then

"Billy sharp quote: I am delighted that I am here and joining a really big club with a strong squad of players, hopefully I can be a cog in the team that helps get this huge club into the Premier League

Get the cheque book out RFC and prove this guy was wrong to pick Saints.

A play off final win against the Saints would be very nice indeed!!!!

Seriously???

He's light years ahead of Hunt and Church. Anyway, onto the next target hopefully.
