No Fixed Abode The things is - Capello has come and said that Terry should remain captain until the court case. If the FA decide to take the captaincy away from JT, then they will be undermining Fabio. If the FA thinks it's for the best to take the captaincy away from JT for the good of the England team, then they might as well take him out of the squad completely imo.
He should stay as England captain until the outcome of the trial. If he is stripped of the captaincy or taken out of the squad before the trial and is found not guilty - The FA are basically punishing an innocent man and if I were JT, I would turn my back on playing for England.

Extended-Phenotype In all seriousness, I would not be happy with a player being in the squad who has this sort of charge hanging over him, let alone captaining the side.
Let’s say for one minute I believed John ‘Racist Scum’ Terry to be innocent, I’d still suggest that, for football reasons, the court case would be detrimental to the side. The player himself would not be mentally fit, his team mates (especially black players) may feel ill at ease, and opponents could use the court case to unsettle the side.
England attract enough negativity worldwide, without being led into the Euros by someone who has been accused of racism.
I fail to see what his innocence has to do anything at this point and surely, if he had any decency, he would realise the question mark hanging over his head would be harmful to his countries chances in a tournament.
Plus, he’s sh|t anyway.

Don't let your anti-Terry or anti-Chelsea stance determine your opinion will you?![]()
Why should someone who has yet to be found guilty be punished?

No Fixed Abode John Terry will stand trial on July 9th, so he will be England captain for the Euro's.

Mr A is a little slow on this one. The three players in question won't be making a statement (confirmed by QPR) as there is nothing to this story.
Saved for posterity.
