I hear from a reliable source that Carlos Sanchez will be signed this week and Mariappa has agreed to join but we're waiting for him to come back from holiday and we've bid for Gylfi and Shane Long is re-signing once the new WBA manager has told him he's not in his plans and Jermaine Defoe is signing on loan.

When one or more of these happen the board will go into meltdown.

seems a bit harsh on FL when he's been right on a couple of ins and was ahead on TSI a few times. didn't he know there was an update coming from the club after it went quiet for several weeks after it should have been signed of, and quoted the club word for word in parts. he clearly deserves to be put in bigmike's category then..

Sigurdsson = very likely as long as Liverpool don't bid
Long = not impossible
Defoe = unlikely

Sanchez, Sigurdsson and Mariappa should be known by the end of next week

Long and Defoe won't be known until after the Euros and quite possibly not until they're back with their clubs for pre-season training

Why would he not get a work permit, Colombia are ranked in the mid-20s of the Fifa rankings and Sanchez has played more games for them than nearly anyone else over the last few years

Agreement provided that Carlos Sanchez is authorized by the authorities to move to England. It is not a mere formality because the South American does not yet have a French passport or the number of selections sufficient to obtain a work permit.

Not sure what the relevance is here for his appearances, cos the guy is colombian, but not being a french citizen does make it harder to get the VISA.
