Very strange viewing, particularly because until we know whether Rodgers succeeds or fails at Liverpool, we don't know whether to regard all this as deluded bullshit or inspired progressiveness. If Liverpool succeed in playing like Spain and winning trophies under Rodgers, he may be seen as the Messiah he'd like to be seen as, and this documentary will be remembered as Rodgers's Sermon on the Mount.

What annoyed me most, though, was the stuff about how the club is a religion to the Liverpool fans, who are a special breed. Why are they more of a special breed than any other fans, particularly the Everton fans, who must be very similar?

They hark back to the wonder days of the Euro dominance, but I remember that game away to St Etienne where the Liverpool fans left a trail of destruction and robbery throughout France. Basically, they were turning up mob-handed at small provincial shops and garages and nicking everything in sight.

This is being massively over-hyped on FSC in the US. Watched a bit yesterday and it makes one cringe. It is just The Office with a lot of red shirts. Big Watch Rodgers is now Brentian Rodgers.

Caught a few minutes of it on Friday night. BR giving some pre match analysis the night before the WBA game in the hotel. He had three envelopes each with a players name in, which were names of players he thought would let the squad down this season.

another thing that comes across, is the players don't look like they're enjoying training etc. Gerrard has a miserable face anyway, but all the players are dead pan.

Obviously players have to remain professional, but it's all about enjoying what you're doing and the players faces and body language tell a different story.

Whats surprising to me is that he seems to have learnt so little from his failures at Reading.

He's once again ditching senior players without obvious replacements, he got rid of Harper/Rosenior at Reading and now the likes of Carroll at Liverpool.

Let slip players he fancied yet failed to clinch, Sigurdsson/Dempsey instead of Tommy Smith.

He's persisting with 4-3-3 even when he doesn't really have the players to do it.

Making ill advised and slightly egotistical comments in front of the cameras.

Failing to get early points on the board to settle down the fanbase.

I really hoped he'd learnt a few things from those disastrous few months here and while he's obviously got quite a bit of time to turn things around it once again seems like he's making similar mistakes.
