MATCH THREAD - Swansea (A) Sponsored by the play off final

by TBM » 06 Oct 2012 13:41

Seems Swansea are struggling at the back, with 3 of their "we don't concede many" back 4 from last season not available - Williams doubtful, Taylor injured and Caulker back at Spurs

Looks like we will be unchanged from the Newcastle game - only doubt being Ledge with a dead leg

Damn it TBM, you only post the match thread when the team is announced, however excited you may be.

Rules are there to be broken :D

Team sheets are in, so we'll know the team any minute now anyway

Today's Reading line-up: McCarthy, Cummings, Shorey, Gorkss, Mariappa, Tabb, Karacan, McAnuff (c), Kebe, Hunt, Pogrebnyak.

I know Tabb never lets us down, but none of our midfield partnerships fill me with confidence like Ledeg-Karacan.

Gotta feel for Guthrie there. Tabb & Karacan always leave us a little bit headless chicken because they're both high tempo hasslers and rarely pause, put their foot on the ball and pick a smart pass.

Think we're in for another poor result unfortunately.

Does anyone know what the bench is yet? The Reading FC rage ballsed it up.

Our best chance of points here is via high tempo hassling though - rather than trying to outpass Swansea.

That's a relegation team. 6-1 Swansea.

Although keeping the ball would probably help us.

I'm going to guess 2004, and it was actually Cardiff away. We won.

For Tabb to move ahead of Guthrie in the pecking order suggests Guthrie is being punished by McDermott. A bit worrying.

More likely to me that McDermott's decided Guthrie isn't the player for a fight just yet and until we're playing better and picking up points, or he's adapted his game a bit, Brian will go with the style that got us promoted with two defensive midfielders.
