Stuka I think I'm going to watch BALE v Scotland

Saw some of it...Wales were the better side but Scotland could count themselves uncluky with some decisions.

As for England..job done and move onto a tougher test this Tuesday.

England were hugely frustrating, trying to play like Barcelona around the edge of the box but without the skill.

I'm not sure why the keeper wasn't red carded for that assault on Theo, he go nowhere near the ball. Why wasn't that a penalty?? It looks as sure a foul as I've ever seen and if that would have been a defender instead of a keeper there would be no debate.

I have to agree with Southgate, what is the point of San Marino even playing in these competitions?

So Wales v Scotland turned out to be fairly entertaining. I'm back to supporting England against the sausage rolls on Tuesday now, back to proper opposition.

It became apparent after they kept trying it that they were treating it like a defense vs attack training session and a chance to practise that close control around the box.

It needs more work.

BoRRing...

As for Englands peformance, I think it was pretty much as expected. I'd like to have seen a bit more creativity and variation to our play. Far too much of the same ineffectual passing around the edge of the area which, with 11 men defending, San Marino dealt with reasonably well.

You can't take a lot from these games as they really are a waste of time. The authorities should take a look at the effect these games are having and make some changes. It's amazing to see over 80k turn up for it though, would any other country get that kind of support?

When have San Marino ever qualified for it though?

The point is others have to pre-qualify bar in Europe.

We do seem to have our share of tiny football nations in Europe. Lichtenstein, San Marino, Andorra, Faroe Islands, and maybe Luxemborg. They should have to pre-qualify rather than being whipping boys whose sole aim to keep the score down to single figures.

Kind of agree that a prequalifying round would be good. Whittle the countries down to 8 groups of 5 and go from there.

The 13 countries knocked out early could then have their own competition.

Tonight should be a more interesting game, and it'll be interesting to see how many changes Hodgson makes. The story being pushed over the last couple of days seems to be about how the youngsters/fringe players who played on Friday have put real questions in Hodgsons mind.

I think we'll see

Hart
Johnson (apparently Walker has a little niggle otherwise I think he might've done enough)
Cahill (50/50 that Jagielka will get the nod)
Lescott
Cole (Baines not far behind now but Cole still number 1, especially for this one)
Gerrard
Cleverly (I think he should edge Carrick but as Carrick went off on Friday it might be that he's the one who'll play)
Milner
Rooney
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Defoe (Welbeck to miss out even though he'd be the better defender to lead the line)

If we can win this one we take control of the group!

Fingers crossed for England tonight. Haunting memories of that truly horrible 2 night stay in Warsaw in 1999, 'run the gauntlet' for most it and a shyte 0-0 game. That stadium was a poxy commie dump, nice of the home fans to be firing flare fireworks at us also. Hope we stuff them.

Vile scenes in Serbia as the U21's win out there.

Racial abuse, Serbian players attacking England staff, missiles being chucked at the English players, all sorts.

Chuck 'em out Fifa.
