Amazed to see Katacan dropped. Thought he was one of our best players against WBA.

Well that doesn't bode well for Karacan's future. Not surprised in the slightest that Legs is back in, although it also doesn't bode well on Akpan's readiness for this level.

Surprised with McAnuff in the middle and McCleary presumably on the left. McDermott's obviously gone to try and be more creative from the start, but I worry it leaves us more open than necessary. I've not really seen McAnuff put in a particularly effective performance in the middle. He's looked alright in brief spells occasionally, but starting?

I guess we'll see how Guthrie stands up defensively now, with Legs being pretty immobile, he's going to have to do a LOT of running and hastling. I'd prefer quite a different midfield, but lets see how it goes.

Judging by how knackered Karacan looked just before he went off in the WBA game I'm guessing he's not fully fit.

So where was McAnuff playing against WBA when we went from 0-2 to 3-2 in 8 minutes?

I could see the plan being to use Legs experience to hope that we can keep it tight and goalless for an hour and Jem come on fresh for the last 25-30 to try and drive on and nick it.

This. Was rushed back to fitness due to the Guthrie/lack of CM situation and is now getting some rest.

Quite pleased with the team, although I would of started with Jem instead of Ledge I agree with an earlier post that Jem has looked a bit tired.

McAnuff/McCleary on the left... Not sure it matters a great deal, can't see either of them getting much out of Debuchy.

So far Kelly's looking more solid defensively but his passing has been shocking.

What are the chances of Leig having a good game for a change?
