Ian Royal There will not be a better goal scored this season. One might equal it, but I doubt it. Fantastic football from Arsenal.

Better one tonight. Kasami for Fulham.

Royal Rother A quite astonishing goal.

No doubt it'll be beaten to goal of the season by some flukey 30 yard effort that involves one player smacking a ball hard and in the right general direction of the goal, during its trajectory utterly deceiving the 'keeper with unpredictable and random movement in the air before smashing into the top corner.

But Ramsey's performance....? Again, I just cannot believe the transformation this season.

And we have seen the goal tonight that will probably beat it to goal of the month

Great skill in the Kasami goal to take it like that and hit it in one fluid movement from a tight angle. No way it should be put in with the typical Lampard/Gerrard hit and hope pile driver.

Sidwell's is a great goal, but a bit like RR foretold. Kasami's is indeed better than the Arsenal one.

Best goal of the night is Mariappa's though, of course.

 Yeah, right. It's good, but it's not a patch on Wilshire's.

The two goals (Kasami's and Wilshere's) represent two different sides to a fantastic goal..
The build up and teamwork in the Arsenal goal left me in awe. It was just beautiful!
The Kasami goal was another beast entirely. It was one of those goals people watch football to see! amazing control and instinct to hit that on target!

Still thought Wilshere's was better.

Precisely what I thought. The technique in that hit from Kasami is superb. But all he needs to do is catch it just right once. Any time you add more intricacy, you add more complication, skill and room for failure IMO. That intricacy and link up between Wilshere and his teammates, through tight spaces, with awkward control required is just sublime.

How often do you see good volleys? I've seen goals along Kasami's lines on plenty of occasions over the years. I think I could count the number of times I've seen a goal approaching the intricacy and skill of Wilshere's on one hand and still have fingers left over. From Wilshere's perspective the technique for Kasami's may be more impressive, but the whole point of Wilshere's goal is that isn't just about Wilshere, it's about the whole move.

The only reason I can see that you could argue Kasami's is better is if Wilshere or one of the others involved comes out and says that one or more of those flicks were completely accidental and not what was intended at all.

Indeed. Magnificent though it was you see plenty of great volleys at all levels of football from non league upwards.

Goals like Wilshere's are extremely rare.

We should try to create an atmosphere like Dortmund on Saturday against Millwall. I may even bring my scarf to the game to get things started

Extremely rare indeed, it was his first ever at home in the league iirc.

Look, as I said on the other thread, Sidwell's was a good hit and hope volley, but Kasami's was fantastic, at least as good as Arsenal's.

Yep, first time the Gunners have faced anyone with any class this season and surprise, surprise they get beat. Still, the ArsenaLOL fans can still cream themselves over their lucky ping pong goal from Saturday

Tbf they could/should have won that game quite easily based on the relative performances. Those writing off Arsenal on the back of this one game are worse than the bandwagon jumperoners.
