A good friend of mine, and fellow Reading fan works at an A&E department here in London. Just got the following message:

"So I was working a tough shift last night and this big hard bastard came in with something and he was being aggressive to the nursing staff, bit of a vvanker etc. Whatever. Anyway it came time for him to have a blood test and cannula insertion. This responsibility is my job. After asking him to roll up his sleeve I notice a big West Ham United tattoo taking up his bicep. I then immediately exchanged my 20 gauge cannula needle for the much larger grey 14 gauge cannula- a needle that is about twice as long and 3 times as wide hahaha"

The problem for them is that they seem to be fighting a battle on two fronts, one nationally to compete in the League and also within London itself. West Ham are in that awkward position of being more glamorous than say Millwall, Charlton, Palace, QPR, Fulham and yet in this modern age of football they will always be a second tier choice for the very best players behind Spurs, Arsenal & Chelsea.

Not sure the current owners will be able to sex them up as a club anymore than they are now, their only upgrade potential is if some random Arabs/Russians etc take over and start paying real monster wages which 'Ammers fans must be aware of and endlessly frustrated by.

Just had a look at their fixtures & they are reasonably kind until the end of March...

However if they fcuk those up, I'd say they will probably go down. 4 of their last 6 games are Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs & Citeh.

Leyton Orient is good chance to go up this year!
Would love it if West Ham get relegated, then they have to play Leyton at the Olympic Stadium, then of course lose.
