I find this a very strange mentality.. happy if they win as theyre "English", happy if they lose as they're what, successful, unlikeable??

Kind of suprised by this. I like seeing English clubs in the latter stages of the CL. Would much rather watch Chelsea v Bayern than Barca v Bayern, or Arsenal v Real than PSG v Real.

I don't think ownership defines the "Englishness" of a club - they're all sides competing in the same competitions as your own team, playing football in the same country as you, and followed by your friends and coworkers.

So what if Carlos Kickaball is earning 100k a week, there are still more English players in the PL than in any other major league.

I said exactly this earlier on. Would crack up if Liverpool or Chelsea finished 4th and this happened.

BTW Man Utd are the rank outsiders in the betting now that the preliminary rounds are out of the way and the tournament starts.

Not just because it's Man Utd but I didn't even think it was goal of the day with Toure's and even more the Norwich player's volley, both of which were scored with the keeper on his line and in position to make a save, needing greater technical ability than a lob (unchallenged) with the keeper off his line.
