Nameless I think the legs of differnet length was a myth, supposedly it didn't manifest itself at York becasue their pitch was on a slope

harryNameless The original Murty we signed for 700k was a total flop.
Luckily it was a 2 for 1 deal and the makeweight proved a huge success.
I seem to recall Tommy Burns signed him as a winger. But he was out for ages (almost Evers-esque in his absence) because he had a back problem caused by different length legs or something. Was that right or is my memory playing tricks?

He signed Andy Gurney as well and I recall him playing the winger at right back and the right back on the wing, but I can't remember which was which - obviously Murty at right back worked out quite well in the end.
Scott Murray - Didn't stay long at the club as a left footed right winger or whatever he was, I wouldn't say he was a failure but didn't fit into the new managers (Coppell?) plans as he thought players with left feet or right feet, whatever playing on the opposite side didn't work.

Gurney was a better defender than Murty. Murts was slightly better going forwards.

From Despair To Where? ..and Murray was shit. Lazy, lower league one trick show pony who never tracked back.

Royal Ginger Mariappa was arguably quite good in a crappy team. Club spent a few bob on him didn't they?

I actually quite liked Murray and was sorry it didn't work out for him this far down the M4. He could have made a name for himself with us but his loyalty to Brizzle won out in the end.

M Brook Steve Moran - how much did we pay for him? The figure of £250,000 comes to mind. Big money in 1986.

AthleticoSpizz Craig Maskell @ 1/4 million?
Dont remember him being up to much.
Although 26 goals in 70-ish games suggests otherwise
