Fair enough, they weren't world beaters, but I thought the team played well, new signings slotted in and weren't atrocious. Saints fans need to realise they have sold a lot of talent, and lower their expectations.

Ward-Prowse has been progressing really well over the last 18 months from what I've seen of him for Saints and England.

Another good technical player who will hopefully continue to improve and provide England with a good option in the middle of the park in years to come.

JWP is definitely a player. I thought Tadic looked pretty decent actually, although Pelle did not impress.

Overally I'd be feeling more positive about the season after that performance if I was a Saints fan than a Liverpool one, despite the result. The two clubs have different levels of expectation and Saints seem more likely to live up to theirs.
