Great day out
Great atmosphere before (in the Temperance) and during (crowd were brilliant)

Thought we were very organised and after their first goal we played as well as we have all year
McCleary way too good for them and put so many good balls in. We just didn't have a man where we needed him.
McC pulled it back to no one on one occasion and on other when Cox was waiting he didn't pull it back to him and slid it across goal instead - no one managed to slide in

We had a goal disallowed for offside - just didn't feel like offside but haven't seen it back yet
And of course Blackmans miss was directly followed by their goal

On most other days we win that game so can't be too disappointed at defeat

Am looking forward to Cardiff!

LWJ
kwik-silva Nine points in the last ten games points to us going one direction rather than the other.

:| how is that? When our manager hasn't had us for 10 games.

SC has overseen 5 league games (3 at home) and we have won 1, drawn 2 and lost 2 - so 5 points out of a possible 15. That's not great although slightly better than the last five league games (2 at home) under NA (W1 D1 L3 - 4 points out of a possible 15). We 'shouldn't' have lost against Fulham and we 'shouldn't' have lost against Watford but we did. On the other hand we were lucky to get a point against Middlesborough. We are undoubtably playing better under SC, so here is room for optimism, but we need points and that means scoring goals. We had over twice as many shots on goal (21) than Fulham, for example, and over twice as many corners (12). Stating the bleeding obvious, maybe, but we need a striker!!

That is alarming. 5 points out of a possible 15 is still far too close to relegation form for comfort. I've a feeling that SC's honeymoon period is likely to come to a pretty quick end unless we start to get some wins under our belt; and for that we need to add a decent striker!

Best I've seen us play for yonks.

It was like an SSC or BMcD Reading team - fast counter-attacking wing play. Luvverly jubbly.

However, we do need to pick up some points soon o/w we'll be in trouble...

To do that, we need a decent striker. Couldn't have lost Mr Murray at a worse time.

I don't think Murray would have performed any better than Pogrebnyak did.

Yeah, but you think Murray is shit, so your opinion on that is pretty worthless.

But could be coming back following Palace getting Gestede if it goes ahead.

I thought we played very well. Best I've seen this season, and bodes well for the future.

We looked very solid, again - and my mind drifted back to Pardew days with full-backs bombing on and wingers taking on their man. On our right at least. McCleary was brilliant, one of his best games for us. And credit to Obita and Hal - not as effective as our right side, but improved in particular from Obita who got in a fair few crosses.

Shame about the goals - apart from those lapses we looked strong at the back and organised right across the park.

As far as I know Fulham is the only mixed section in the country - and it was superb, great 'bantz' sat amongst fans of both sides, especially for the goals.

There was the obvious pocketful of Reading fans who spent half the game gobbing off at people in the mixed section, but, sitting in the middle of it at least, having mixed fans only enhanced the atmosphere, which to be fair was very good as a result of a decent away support.

I wasn't at the game on Saturday but heard that the stewards were being massive pcunts - including refusing a young woman with terminal cancer from getting in, saying that she was "drunk". When she told them she had terminal cancer and weeks to live, they replied with "why do you still have hair then?" and ripped her ticket up.

Undone in the final moments of game again, that's twice under SC; Fulham and Brighton and he's only had 5 games. Still defensively we seem to be on the right lines overall. As with everyone else I think we need a striker or two as a priority.

Cureton's Volley Somehow we managed to make 3000 sound like 300 for large periods of the game...
That's an improvement over our home crowds where 12,000-15,000 sound like 100 for large periods of the game

But was she also drunk?

I thought they were OK, there were lots of people standing in aisles or the edge of the row and they weren't at all bothered that they were many people not sitting in their seats.

Again, I wasn't there - but from people who were consoling her at the time, she'd had 2 shandies & the reason why they may have impacted her was her illness. Either way, absolutely abhorrent comment from the steward in question & I hope he and the rest of their stewarding team gets their comeuppance & get smashed by another set of away fans.

Apparently they also tore up her ticket as they turned her away, just insulting. I know it's going viral on Twitter, had around 900 retweets when I saw it yesterday afternoon and was still going. Media also contacting for further info.
