tidus_mi2 That's my view entirely, I don't dislike Pog, in fact he comes across as a nice guy and definitely does seem to put the effort in, but for all the effort in the world, does his ability justify 30k+ wages? His track record here suggests not.

I don't like any player that's happy to run down a contract a club can't afford when he's not playing regularly. And all because he knows he's not worth it and won't get it elsewhere.

His wages would certainly be better invested elsewhere but no suggestion we can't afford them. I don't think it's fair to blame Pog for the excessive wages we agreed to pay him, I would do exactly the same thing in his shoes. Given his age and having a family to look after I can well understand why he wouldn't be desperate to go elsewhere for less money just to play out his career.

He knows the rouble is going to be worth the square root of zilch by the time he returns to Mother Russia, and Mrs Pog is properly keeping a personal shopper busy in Harrods or Fortnum & Masons. Let's be honest how many people would go 'Ooo no, you can have all this money back' if their employer had offered them a mega contract and then effectively stuck them on gardening leave? No one. So why should he? I am not necessarily a fan, but it's not like he's got a mystery injury is it?

Hopefully the beginning of getting our club back on a sound footing.

Good luck Royston, not sorry to see you go and am glad you can go and steal a living from someone else.

It would be interesting to know if we got any money for him. Can't imagine we did but you never know.

There's a reason we nearly went into Administration, couldn't sign anyone last January and are limited on the business we can do now. It's because we made a £7.5m loss last season and high wages, for which Pog is probably the worst example, is the cause.

No, it's not his fault we offered him stupid money. It is his fault he's saying oxf*rd you, I'm happy to make you keep paying me it when I'm not playing, not wanted and could be looking to find a move to actually do my job and play some football.

Instead of our retarded fans singing his name at games they should be booing him and giving him a hard time. Maybe then he'll think about finally oxf*rd off for good

He plays!!! What is wrong with you???

When he is fit, he plays, he tries, and is generally liked by fans, players and management. Why the oxf*rd would he go somewhere for less money, to a worse club, in a worse area just to satisfy fools like you?!

I knew it would take some exceptionally shit to be a worse signing that Sean Evers, but finally someone has managed it.

Congratulations Royston Drenthe, you useless sack of piss.

Fantastic news , I just feel sorry for the fans of Kayseri Erciyesspor who are having to pay the no doubt
high wage for this journeyman.

He had talent but couldn´t handle life, in a word a nutter, a loose cannon. No manager including Mourinho,Moyes could get the best out of him.

His going releases a load of money in wages, for perhaps a less talented but hard working player.

This on paper has been a good week, 10 days remain until the end of the transfer window hopefully time to get rid of the Pog and Guthrie. Then things would look really bright.

Slowly the club is getting on an even keel. The Mad Russian , Ziggy I mean, almost bankcrupted our wonderful club.
Hopefully the nightmare is almost over. There are green shoots let us hope the present gardeners are more capable than those over the past 2-3 years.
