From Despair To Where? I remember us being 3-0 up at half time against Port Vale and creaming it but falling apart in the second half. IIRC, Archie had scored a hat-trick in the previous home game.

Against Swindon, wasn't it?

Fox Talbot Also surprising (to me) Quinn never played a single minute in the top-flight of English football.

BR2 Was Rodney Thornhill (very British) the only non-striker to score a hat-trick for us?
I would bet that he was the only non-striker to score 4 goals for us in one game on that very wet day v Watford(?)

Fox Talbot One name not on Strap's list is Jimmy Quinn - who surprisingly never scored a hat-trick for Reading (I'm not blaming Strap for not including him of course). Amazing considering Les Chappell got 7.
Obvious question to waste more of Strap's day - which Reading player has scored most goals for the club without ever getting a hat-trick (the kind of opposite of Jack Whitham).
Also surprising (to me) Quinn never played a single minute in the top-flight of English football.

From Despair To Where? Spacey is referring to Archie's hat trick.

RoyallyFcuked Leroy Lita.... I can also remember there was talk of him possibly getting a call up to the England first team, during his purple patch in our first Prem season.

Ian Royal Blimey, I hadn't realised Gooding scored so much. I only ever saw his twilight... even then he was a cracking little player.
