Nameless Have to agree that Alli's inclusion looks bizarre. He'll need to do something special to justify his inclusion....

Excellent post.

No Fixed Abode I was embarrassed by the commentary last night.

Yes Dele Alli scored a good goal and played reasonably well. But when are we going to get out of this culture of bigging players up so soon?

I dunno m9, I'd be pretty embarrassed by Chelsea if I were a fan.

I'd be more embarrassed coming on here straight after the final whistle of every Chelsea defeat tbf tbh.

You're too busy pulling imaginary birds at the AD to come on here and get rattLOLed?

Don't get rattLOLed m8. I was only pointing out a fact. No need to make up stories about me pulling 'imaginary' birds.

No Kes, that would be weird. Football can be funny, but not sexually arousing.

This article on BBC Sport (http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35218462) got me thinking that the future is just about starting to take over now and we're starting to see a potentially good crop gel together.

This is a pretty decent 11, and they're all under 25.

Butland

Clyne
Shaw
Stones
Jones

Wilshire
Barkley
Alli

Sterling
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Kane

No chance under Hodgson, not conservative enough as there's a possibility there could be some attacking flair shown.

I wasn't really suggesting it as a potential line-up for the Euro's, just an example of the younger players who are now starting to establish themselves now the golden generation are out of the way.

All of those are under 25 and obviously the likes of Hart, Cahill, Smalling, Henderson, Delph, Rooney, Walcott, and Sturridge (if he can ever get fit) will play a big part in Hodgson's plans.

It's a couple of weeks until the Germany and Netherlands friendlies, and 3 months until the first game of the finals against Russia.

Does Ali make your preferred starting XI?

Do you squeeze Sturridge, Kane and Vardy into the side? Where do Rooney and Barkley fit in?

A while ago I thought the side was pretty settled with just a couple of spots up for grabs but now I'm really not sure.

I've barely followed the PL, but for the LOLs

........................Hart
..Clyne, Cahill, Smalling, Baines
............Henderson, Delph
....Milner........Kane........Lallana
.......................Vardy

oxf*rd width. Or competent selection for that matter.

I think Hodgson names his squad for the upcoming Germany and Holland friendlies tomorrow.

With no Rooney available it's a great chance to look at Barkley playing in behind Kane and/or Kane and Vardy as an old school front two so although I'm sure many will show their usual derision for all things Team England I'm, unsurprisingly, quite looking forward to it.

I'd also like to see if Ali and Henderson can work as a pair behind whatever front four play as I'm sure that's the way (4-2-3-1) we'll have to play to make the most of our attacking options in the summer.

I'd like to see Welbeck, Vardy, Kane, Ali, Berkley all put out over the friendlies at some point. I know Welbeck hasn't been amazing at club level this season but his form for England has been superb and I think he deserves a good go to impress again and put him in with a shout of the Euros.

Not sure Rooney deserves a place. Coming back from injury he is always shit.

I can't envisage Rooney not being in the squad come the summer, but his place in the team will be under serious threat if he struggles for form after this injury.

The good thing is about this one is that it should've happened early enough for him to get back into the side and then have a good half a dozen games to get match fit and sharp again. It may even work to his/our advantage as it'll be a nice little mid-season break for him.

The one that I think is most likely to miss out because of injury is Wilshire. He was excellent for England for a short while but he's not back playing yet and, like Rooney, has previously taken a long time to get back from other knocks. It leaves the door open for Dier, Ali or even a Drinkwater to stake a claim for a starting place.
