Agree with this. Once things weren't going our way Clarke didn't have it in him to turn things round, as he also demonstrated at WBA.
+1 Why anyone would defend Clarke given his awful record is beyond me. Took over a good West Brom side, honeymoon period then shit. Took over an underperforming Reading side and made them worse. Got heavily backed in the summer, then contrived to mismanage a flying side into freefall and go look for other jobs.
not a Clarke fan then ! As McShane said players let SC down, Fulham approached us, board agreed they could speak to SC, not other way round ..

Royal_jimmy McDermott is the right man at the wrong time. We needed a manager who favoured the passing style to great effect. We are now reverting to direct long ball. Should have gone for a young manager from a league 1 team. Complete waste of time.

quickwingerswife Cooper is a liability, proved again last night, no pace and windmill arms. He could have been taken aside ages ago and told about the shortcomings but Mc Dermott doesn't seem that sort of manager and here we are out of the cup. McDermott talks a good job but is he any better than Clarke or Adkins, I don't think so. Wife away, this is me Dave, funk off oxf*rd Royal.

ILoveMoonPig Whilst it was undoubtedly effective, I've never been a fan of the way that Brian gets the team to play. It's a shame because under Clarke, we were starting to play some really good stuff: pass-move football, with players creating space for each other and really good one-touch passes, to get through on goal.
Sadly, we've lost that now. Everything just feels slow and predictable, like it did under Adkins. You can tell where the ball is going long before it's kicked.
And Brian also seems to struggle with man management; the falling out with Guthrie, Sa etc.
Either way, he's in charge now and not being behind him is a waste of time. We surely don't have the cash to change managers again. He's affordable and knows the feel of the club. We can at least believe that he won't want to leave for a club offering him a bigger budget.

No, because he was a useless cock. The players don't pick the side.
The board let Clarke talk to Fulham, because he said he wanted to despite their disapproval and their knowledge from past experience that refusing doesn't make the blindest bit of difference. But you'd know that if you weren't willfully ignoring reality to support Clarke over McDermott and had been a fan for more than 5 minutes.

glass half full This McDermott side will surprise a few doubters by going on a run and beating a few sides convincingly. They are not a bad group by any means - and Brian can galvanise them.

That is a load of bollocks. We are not reverting to long ball at all, you are seeing what you want to see to suit your anti McDermott agenda.

Other than some snake feeding the press to stir it up nothing official came from the club (as usual). Are you also blaming Clarke for Feds blunder at Wembley or the fact that Al Flapsi forgot how to catch against QPR ?

Actually, Howe was very open about what had happened, once it was dealt with. There was even a press conference that included Clarke.
Noticable that Al-Habsi hasn't made a serious error since McDermott came in, but no I don't blame Clarke for goalkeeping errors. I blame Clarke for being a shit manager with a shit record.

I'm not upset in the least. It's you bitching and moaning about stuff, not me. I didn't say McDermott brought in Al-Habsi or Beasant. I merely (correctly) pointed out that since McDermott has come in we've had no more goalkeeping howlers.

Lets just gloss over those signings then (which SC takes credit for), lets also gloss over Feds mistake at Wembley and the fact SC took us to 2nd in this league with no money, £4m for Hector etc.
Back to al Flapsi's improved form which you somehow attribute to BM, does BM also take credit for Norwoods dip in form, Hector going backwards, HRK's indifferent performances etc.

Are you a retard? Or are you Kes? ( ie all of the above) Honest question.
HRK is playing better than he has for 2 years and Hector is being praised for his defensive midfield role that he's excelling in.
Yeah Norwood is struggling but that actually started quite a while ago.
Oh andat you "glossing over" being wrong.
