Uke Scutterbucketz Mr Optimist Groups of England fans did the same in Marseille, getting up early to help clean the streets of the rubbish and empty bottles, but the story doesn't fit the media agenda, so got little in the way of publicity.
You don't really need the media for things to spread these days. It didn't really show up much on social media either. Not sure why that was. Maybe English fans litter picking just isn't whacky enough.
Am I the only person who finds the Irish fans properly cringeworthy? Admittedly, their behaviour is infinitely preferable to fighting and acting like animals, but it all seems a bit too much like enforced jollity for my tastes.
Damn them going over there, with their 'jollity'...
How dare they cheer that bloke on the balcony, compliment the Swedes on their sexy wives, help the French motorists with the flat tyre, etc, etc
Don't they know they should be fighting in the streets
