Pepe the Horseman
Brosef Stalin
NewCorkSeth And yet he manages to score for fun! Other permacrocked strikers dont seem to be able to do what he does! That must be worth something surely?

I really rate him but you won't get POTS if you're sat in the treatment room.

Bad experience, Brosef?

Are Sunderland having a crack at winning their record back off Derby?

Surely they can't succeed?

I reckon they won't get 10+ points.

For all the negative comments said about our great club did I really hear crowd noise and chanting played through their tannoy today?

This isn't going to work. It's the worst of both worlds. Those who feel the new stadium doesn't feel like West Ham will be turned off by the new plasticky, matchday experience. Those who thought we were going to see world class players and a successful West Ham winning silverware and playing in Europe are going to be disappointed when it doesn't happen. The only people who will be happy are the ones who don't care that West Ham are still the same inconsistent, heartbreaking team they always were and love that we are now playing in a bigger version of the Madejski. I'm not convinced there's 57,000 people of this mindset who can fill the ground in the long run.

Safe to say everything they mocked us for is now applicable to themselves, humble pie time.

That entire thread is an interesting read.

I think they're being a little melodramatic with regards to their on-the-field situation. I think they'll be alright eventually. However, I don't blame them for feeling shitty about the match day experience, it looks far worse than the Madejski, at least there you're close to the pitch. I can't imagine being lumbered with that place for the next 100 years

Unfortunately I believe you are right. I said the same today, West Ham will be fine and will probably finish around 12-13th after finding their form. It's just pressure and the fear of losing. They will win eventually and turn things round to some extent.

Yep, say what you like about the MadStad but it was built for Reading to play football in, so it is a football stadium... not just some random structure we found that was vacant and we could ship our stuff into.

I've seen the pictures and to say they look bad is an understatement. A HUGE green circular spare in the middle of the ground, with a pitch plonked in the middle. I can't get over the space at the sides, it's massive.

Last years 3/4 of a really good season does appear to have wiped away the fan's memories of being a bit of an up and down club. Or at least the vocal social media brigade. Its not like they've been finishing in the top 6 year after year for the last couple of decades (or ever). Not helped of course by the Sky Sports overhyping of the stadium move, its like we're all supposed to have them as a second team just because we gave them a stadium. Martin Tyler was abysmal yesterday in his commentary.

Whilst I'm on the subject of Tyler. Yes the technical areas are probably the biggest in the Premier League. But only because otherwise they'd be half a mile from the pitch. Its not difficult to understand.

A very good performance and making the most of it against a potential relegation side.
Next Saturday will give us a better idea of whether Bournemouth have improved as they play Spurs, one of the sides that outplayed them twice last season.

Watching bits of the Middlesboro game and all of the Saints v Burnley game it shows what we all knew that the gap now between Championship and Premier becomes ever greater.
Burnley IIRC hardly lost a game last season but, apart from the flukey win v Liverpool, have struggled.
Only Sunderland may stop all 3 promoted sides going straight back down and it looks already as though two of the relegated sides in Newcastle and Norwich are nailed on for an immediate return despite not making many net improvements to their squads-in the case of Norwich I think they are actually weaker and as for Newcastle despite buying a few it is arguable whether that improves them with Sissoko and the striker having left as well as the little black midfielder who was always getting booked.

I do envy what Bournemouth are doing and am still disappointed that we didn't invest in that second season the first time around whereas Bournemouth have certainly splashed the cash and it is paying off.

Another week, another change of heart for pundits and journo's. Now it's Arsenal who will win the league. You really couldn't make it up.

Shit management from Klopp.

Giving players the option to withdraw from the team if they felt too tired is a really crap way to go about it. Could have cost his club the title there. (Probable exaggeration.)

He would probably argue that he trusts his squad enough to rotate around any injury or fatigue issues and giving players the chance to flag any issues is a good way to ensure he had a side fit and raring to go at Sunderland.

He might also see it as a way of weeding out those who haven't quite got what it takes in the long term.

Unless we really know his motivation and what he'll take out of it I'm not sure you can say it's rank bad management.

Dropping 2 points to Sunderland is a crap result for a side chasing the title though.

In these days of big squads where high science is an integral part of fitness management in professional sport its pretty much an abrogation of responsibility to let the team decide whether they are fit enough to play a 2nd game within 48 hours.

What did he get out of it?

Nobody said they didn't want to play so has he learned they are made of the right stuff, or the wrong stuff?
