Apart from the shot where they went through and the player somehow dragged it wide they did nothing but have speculative shots from 30+ yards. Once they went 1-0 down they started lumping it up field and looked slightly more effective. Certainly wouldn't say they dominated.

THey dominated by having less possession than us, fewer shots on target and fewer goals. It's the modern way....

Kitsondinho having 'the loudest fans'

Surprisingly I wouldn't even say that. For SWFC they were quiet. They are a big club, well supported and generally extremely vocal, but today even up to us going 1-0 up they were a bit subdued compared to their normal selves.

After we took the lead the atmosphere from Reading I felt was far better than the SWFC end

They absolutely didn't dominate the game. They attacked quite quickly compared to our possession obsessed approach - that said they squandered possibly 2 clear chances to score (other than the goals) and wasted any attacking opportunities by shooting from long range.

We wasted chances as well. 3 in particular. 2-1 was a fair result.

Here's a Sheffield Wednesday 180:

What a bunch of ignorant tossers.

Do we feel any empathy or understand towards the mighty Brighton now? They banged on for weeks about them having a huge ego (pot/kettle etc....) ... didn't know it was that bad though

At the risk of being (rightly) shunned by the HNA massive.....I'd say Wednesday fans are worse, because they view us as completely beneath them. We belong in League Two (like Wigan apparently). As BHA have their weird dislike of us, at least they acknowledge our existence!

It's a crying shame.

Every year I look forward to playing Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, Leeds... the big boys.

Wednesday in my mind were always so likable as I saw footage of them losing in the play off final and still singing "Not today.... not today.... to the premier league... not today...." truely fantastic support.

I love their fans at times, but it's a shame they sometimes present this image.

Have we established WHY they thought they had scored when they hadn't?

Surely they would have had a decent view of the fact they missed?

On a side note I'm particularly happy about this result, don't like Wednesday and their shitty self-entitled fans. Did think it's a bit lols that we stole their song and sung it louder than they did.

I've always found Wednesday fans to be an alright bunch and a lot more pleasant and balanced than those knuckle dragging retards from Bramall Lane.

Having said that, the atmosphere at Bramall Lane shits on Hillsborough.

3points There's not a lot of rounded views on their forum - clearly at a different game to me

we were the better team and really should have won. We battered them at the start of the second half but Joao's miss proved to be costly.

Both sides wanted to keep the ball but we used it far better.

We outplayed 3rd place away from home without key players, so that's a positive.

Joao did hit the back of the net, but I still don't know why it doesn't count.

Wednesday were by far the better team for the first 45, up to about 70 mins

Joao's miss was the turning point. Reading were a poor side, disappointing to come away from there with nowt. Astonishing they are third.

FWIW I pretty well agree with most of those views, except the "disallowed" goal.

I agree about the Wednesday/United comparison. The Blades fans I know are usually upset about something.....mainly the fact Wednesday are better than them.

Nameless Interesting that they think losing to a team that is missing key players is a positive......
I thought we really struggled in midfield without Williams and Swift but to still take the 3 points against such a physical side is laudable
he was suggesting Sheff Weds were missing key players. No reference to RFC

It was a great result. Two solid team had started off quite cagily, but came out with a bit more energy in the second half, and the finish had my heart pumping. They were having a really good spell, and Beerens was having a mare when the goal came. A couple of red cards wouldn't have been unfair (the useless 44 planted his boot into our boys chest in the first half), but I liked the ref. He let some crunching 50/50s go and was consistent.

It's a shame Samuels was crap and Kermogant was good: the young lad has so much to learn, but I am sure he will do it with a spell in the first team.

Blackett was MotM, but Moore is player of the season so far.

Oh, thankyou. I'm such a silly billy....

Although of course I did (if inadvertently) highlight the daftness of his comment anyway.... most teams have players missing in most games.

Shouldn't be a problem for Wednesday, they have the best squad in The Championship....and probably world football.....

Sorry....I will let it go at some point....

Would agree they battered us at the start of the second half although a lot of that came from Reading making stupid decisions and losing the ball cheaply in their own half. But then it should be noted that SW did come out and pressed higher with a lot more intent than they had in the first half

Both sides wanted to keep the ball but we used it far better.

Would say that that is rubbish. Both sides largely went nowhere with the ball until Reading jammed themselves in front after which Wednesday had to go more direct and would therefore be perceived as using the ball more effectively.

We outplayed 3rd place away from home without key players, so that's a positive.

Well, no you didn't really, aside form the start of the second half as stated previously. At 2-0 down with time running down then we know that Wednesday would be throwing everything they can at Reading and Reading would just desperately try to throw everything they can in the way of it and hoping for a breakaway. Pretty much the same for any 2-0 late in a game between two evenly matched teams. Also it should be noted that if Wallace had rightly been sent off instead of just booked then in all liklihood the game would have just petered out at 2-0.

And if Wednesday had key players out then don't forget Reading were missing Williams and Swift who would have both started if they'd been available. Plus Kermorgant only came on for the last 20 minutes or so.....

Joao did hit the back of the net, but I still don't know why it doesn't count.

Only because he couldn't stop running run time but not sure why someone running into netting would count for anything anyway.

Wednesday were by far the better team for the first 45, up to about 70 mins

Utter rubbish. The first 45 minutes was a totally nondescript borefest between two sides going nowhere and not looking particularly bothered about the fact they were going nowhere. Wednesday were the better side until Reading scored then Reading were the better side until they scored again. After that Reading reverted to defending the lead and looking for a breakaway.

Joao's miss was the turning point. Reading were a poor side, disappointing to come away from there with nowt. Astonishing they are third.

Thought Joao was quite a useful looking player, thoroughly relieved he left his shooting boots on the team coach though. Would agree that that miss was the turning point of the game as if it had gone in Wednesday would have gone ultra defensive and we'd have carried on struggling and probably ended up losing 1-0.

And quite possibly many Reading fans are astonished we are third.

I've always liked both sets of Sheffield fans - IMO passionate, vocal, fair minded and have always been welcoming on visits to their grounds.
